Then to take it out locally, the packages in the post and emails with into the world at gigs, to receive some applause mp3s and download links. I love working with children, but storytelling is a very powerful ancient art that moves people to emotion and action. They can use storytelling to build rapport with their audiences and fill those awkward moments when tuning or setting up. This comes with experience, but a musician can accelerate the process by attending storytelling workshops or clubs. I run a series of workshops called “Stories and How to Tell Them” for musicians, therapists, educators and even public speakers, as well as one to one sessions. With my partner Keith Donnelly, I also run a workshop called “Mind the Gap” on the songs between the stories and the stories between the songs. You can find details on the Education tab of my website.

I also recommend world famous Drutsyla - 2020 Shonaleigh’s workshops and courses – she is a Jan wonderful storyteller in the Jewish tradition who learned her craft from her grandmother.
