One of the people that they spoke to was a man named Jeff who was living in a damp basement flat in hostel accommodation (paid for by the council) that is both near un-inhabitable for Jeff and doesn’t help him get on the ladder to a better and more stable home. Technical- ly, he doesn’t appear in our UK homeless statistics, so Jeff is another hidden figure lost in our system. His situation is both really bad for his health and happiness, whilst also being ridiculously expen- sive for the tax payer due to the council’s poor spending de- cisions. No one wins and no- body is doing anything to im- prove the situation.” 4 The Zine Team, March 2018 The Zine Team, March 2018 5 Money over matter: Gender pay inequalities By Shipra Kapoor Carrie Gracie, BBC’s China gle of discrimination in BBC correspondent recently re- based on the gender.
