Getting started - Android Apps Where do I get my apps? You can buy apps via the google play store. You can do this online at http://play.google.com/ You can also shop in the play store directly on your device. Your device will have a link to the play store that looks like this Not all apps available on Apple iDevices are available on Android. Top tips for finding apps Use ‘categories’ in the Play Store to refine your selection. Filter your search findings by popularity and price. Check out the Customers Also Bought section. Look for free or lite versions of apps so you can try before you buy the full version. Look for lists of apps recommended or reviewed by others. Important to Note: There are many different pieces of hardware that run Android. This means that when you buy an app, not all apps work the same on every device. This could be due to differences in the hardware and screen size. Android is open source. This means that the operating system’s code is openly available to third party developers who can write applications (apps) easily for Android. While most apps can be downloaded from Google Play Store, some are also available through third party sites. Be aware that the quality of applications may vary significantly. Read app reviews and look at what others have said about an app before you buy it. Many of the apps in this list have been loaded onto an Acer tablet during our review process. We understand that not all apps work well on all devices, and encourage you to conduct your own research into the apps you wish to purchase for your device carefully before doing so. 1 | List
