Two quarters. Countless pitches. 22 students. And seemingly endless hours of writing and design has lead us to this moment. In this magazine, you will read stories of all genders striving for the same goal: inclusion. Stories of women flipping the script, men going against the norm, non-binary people fighting for equality. As an all-female team, we strived to challenge the status quo from the beginning. We, as women, are constantly fighting the battle we were born with, a battle that wasn’t our choice, to begin with. We are pitted against each other, the odds stacked against us, as we try to maneuver our way through a male-dominated society with as few scars as possible. But enough is enough. It’s time for our revolution. Read through our pages and join our uprising. Our words are unapol- ogetic. Our images are bold. We are fearless. And it is all tied together with a touch of pink. — THE EDITORS cover and above: styled by LUISA ROSSI photo by ZACH MISCAVIGE models OLIVIA FOSTER & JESSICA KNOBLOCHS CONGN TULATIONS TO DREXEL DM AND FASHION DESIN STUDENTS -AND DON’T FORGET THE ACCESSORIES! editor-in-chief CONTENTS EVANGELINE HALA 10 top 10 trends art directors 12 redefining retail VICTORIA COSTA 14 get your ish together LIZ BAUMAN 15 the art of tailoring 16 notorious f.a.s.h.i.o.n. style director 18 sean williams LUISA ROSSI 21 the 5 sneakers you must have in your closet 22 if costumes could talk editors 24 nostalgia never looked this good CAMILLA BARCAN 26 the chicks behind the flicks NATALIE KRUMENACKER 28 embodying perfection 31 this is never that photography director 32 tech-styles CHARLOTTE KENNY-YAP 34 are you in the right class? 38 isn’t that a girl major staff photographer 40 gender bender ERIN WEISGERBER 42 a scary time for boys 44 the f word digital team 46 leading ladies JACKIE DALE 50 who is art for? • The AGA Song Book up to Date
3rd Edition Songs, Poems, Stories and More! Edited by Bob Felice Published by The American Go Association P.O. Box 397, Old Chelsea Station New York, N.Y., 10113-0397 Copyright 1998, 2002, 2006 in the U.S.A. by the American Go Association, except where noted. Cover illustration by Jim Rodgers. No part of this book may be used or reproduced in any form or by any means, or stored in a database or retrieval system, without prior written permission of the copyright holder, except for brief quotations used as part of a critical review. Introductions Introduction to the 1st Edition When I attended my first Go Congress three years ago I was astounded by the sheer number of silly Go songs everyone knew. At the next Congress, I wondered if all these musical treasures had ever been printed. Some research revealed that the late Bob High had put together three collections of Go songs, but the last of these appeared in 1990. Very few people had these song books, and some, like me, weren’t even aware that they existed. While new songs had been printed in the American Go Journal, there was clearly a need for a new collection of Go songs. Last year I decided to do whatever I could to bring the AGA Song Book up to date. I wanted to collect as many of the old songs as I could find, as well as the new songs that had been written since Bob High’s last song book. You are holding in your hands the book I was looking for two years ago.
