    ■ . ~+j-,r?7-w- - i i - . \ t MEXICAN GRASSES IN THE UNITED STATES NATIONAL HERBARIUM. By A. S, Hitchcock INTRODUCTION. The following list of grasses, based entirely upon specimens in the United States National Herbarium, is a preliminary paper, in which the scattered data upon Mexican grasses have been brought together and arranged in a convenient form. The species included have been accepted, for the most part, in their traditional sense. It has been impracticable to examine the types of many of the earlier described species since these specimens are located in European herbaria. For this reason the synonymy has been confined mostly to those names that could be fixed by an examination of American types, or concerning the application of which there was little doubt. The largest number of unidentified names are found in Fournier's work on Mexican grasses.1 This results from the incomplete or unsatis- factory descriptions and from the fact that the specimens cited under a given species either may not agree with the diagnosis, or may belong to two or more species, at least in different herbaria. An examination of the original specimens will undoubtedly lead to the identification of the greater part of these names. There are several specimens that have been omitted from the list because they have not been identified and are apparently unde- scribed species. They belong to genera, however, that are much in need of critical revision and further study of them is deferred for the present. In subsequent articles it is hoped to work out the classifi- cation of the tropical American grasses upon a type basis KEY TO THE GENEBA.

    Ficha informativa, 16 de abril de 2020 Encuesta Nacional de Seguridad Pública Urbana (ENSU) Principales resultados para Jalisco Marzo 2020 El 16 de abril de 2020, el INEGI presentó la vigésimo séptima edición de la Encuesta Nacional de Seguridad Pública Urbana (ENSU), siendo su principal objetivo el obtener información que permita realizar estimaciones con representatividad a nivel nacional urbano de la percepción que tiene la población sobre la seguridad pública en su ciudad. Se encuestaron a personas de 18 años y más; la encuesta tiene una periodicidad trimestral con periodos de levantamiento en los meses de marzo, junio, septiembre y diciembre. Los resultados de marzo de 2020 se dividen en nueve módulos con información y cobertura nacional urbana: I. Percepción, II. Sensación de seguridad, III. Expectativas de delincuencia, IV. Condición de atestiguamiento de delitos y conductas antisociales, V. Cambio de rutinas por temor a la delincuencia, VI. Percepción del desempeño de autoridades, VII. Conflictos y conductas antisociales, VIII. Desempeño gubernamental y IX. Formas de enterarse sobre la situación de la seguridad pública (en este trimestre se omiten los módulos X. Delitos contra integrantes del hogar y XI. Acoso personal y violencia sexual). Para el estado de Jalisco, a partir de la encuesta de junio de 2018, el INEGI reporta resultados de las zonas urbanas de los municipios de Guadalajara, Tonalá, Tlajomulco de Zúñiga, San Pedro Tlaquepaque, Zapopan y Puerto Vallarta1. Los principales resultados para Jalisco se presentan a continuación; para facilitar la exposición, a la región integrada por las zonas urbanas de los municipios de Guadalajara, Tonalá, San Pedro Tlaquepaque, Zapopan y Tlajomulco de Zúñiga, se le denominará Zona Metropolitana de Guadalajara (ZMG).

It lies in the municipalities of Chapala, Jocotepec, Poncitlán, and Jamay, in Jalisco, and in Venustiano Carranza and Cojumatlán de Régules, in Michoacán. Geography Geographic Features It is located at 20°20′N 103°00′W, 45 km southeast of Guadalajara, Jalisco, and is situated on the border between the states of Jalisco and Michoacán, at 1,524 metres (5000 feet) above sea level. Its approximate dimensions are 80 km (50 mi) from east to west and averages 12.5 km (7.8 miles) from north to south, and covers an approximate area of 1,100 km2 (420 sq mi). It is a shallow lake, with a mean depth of 4.5 metres (15 ft) and a maximum of 10.5 m (34 ft). It is fed by the Río Lerma, Río Zula, Río Huaracha, and Río Duero rivers, and drained by the Rio Grande de Santiago. The water then flows northwest into the Pacific Ocean. Islands The lake also contains three small islands, Isla de los Alacranes (the larger of the three), Isla Mezcala and a third very small island next to Isla Mezcala called La Isla Menor.
