Role Description – Community Development Project Manager

Job Title Community Development Project Manager (Fixed Term Contract)

Responsible to Manager

Works with Museum Manager, COO, Project Volunteers, Digital Learning Officer, Curator

Contract May/June 2021 – August 2021

Location Museum of , , W11 1QT with remote working

Hours 8.5 hours per day

Working pattern 5 days per week

Holiday 20 days, 8 days public holidays (pro-rata)

Salary £28,000 per annum (pro-rata)

1) Job Purpose

This strategic role has been identified for continuing the delivery of our wellbeing project, Memories, which helps people living with dementia (including early onset) and their carers and families, as well a wider 65+ audience across London to access and engage with the . The project highlights the value of Brands as a tool in dementia therapy and provides a permanent new department in an expanding independent Museum. This position is best suited for a candidate with demonstrable knowledge in marketing and communications and with a past record of delivering and evaluating successful community projects.

2) Main responsibilities

Project Management

• Deliver the final phase of the ‘Brand Memories’ project, using an existing project plan and grant applications to guide aims, activities and targets, including 26,000 beneficiaries across the project duration • Responsible for all aspects of project delivery including planning, budget, reporting, marketing and evaluation • Work with project funders to ensure all grant requirements are met • Work in line with existing strategic documents such as a project plan, marketing plan, monitoring framework, project environmental sustainability plan, risk register and budget • Monitor and evaluate the success of all aspects of the project with a particular focus on its effectiveness

in reducing social isolation and improving wellbeing • Work with the wider team to ensure the funded project helps deliver against the museum’s overall learning strategy and to coordinate marketing activities • Prepare monthly top-line progress reports for Museum Manager and COO, and reports to funders and trustees as per agreed requirements

People

• Maintain active partnerships with national, London-wide and local dementia service providers, and similar organisations who support older people • Engage Museum audiences through effective communication and marketing • Manage a small team of project volunteers to support programme delivery • Build a sense of local ownership and be a vibrant local museum for our new area, forming documented partnerships with relevant local organisations

Activities & Marketing

• Use a wide range of marketing methods as appropriate to connect with the various target audiences within the project • Extend the benefits for participants by achieving multiple sessions / visits / use of products • Deliver training sessions for professionals working with target audiences to deliver their own outreach sessions across London, with an emphasis on benefits to participants’ organisation • With the support of volunteers, continue to deliver memory sessions including distributing resource boxes, for care homes and outreach sessions • Plan, deliver and market carers talks and professional development talks around prevention • Maintain our library of downloadable carer activities • Responsible for the up-take of all project activities through effective marketing and promotion, • Use Wellbeing Measures Toolkit to quantify positive impact on participants • Evaluate the success of activities and the marketing of activities used throughout the project

3) Person Specification

Essential Desirable Qualifications Degree or equivalent PGCE, MA, Postgraduate CIM, or equivalent Knowledge Office including Excel Knowledge of well-being agendas Highly numerate and literate within cultural or commercial sector

Demonstrable knowledge in marketing Enthusiasm for, and knowledge of, campaigns as part of an integrated collections relating to brands, communications strategy packaging, or design

Skills and Proven project management experience Delivery of formal learning Experience Development and delivery of a Teaching in a museum or similar marketing strategy environment

3+ yrs experience of delivering Experience of delivering Wellbeing community-based projects initiatives

Experience of working with older Delivering grant-funded projects audiences including people living with dementia PowerPoint, Photoshop, design packages Sound understanding of older people’s services

Managing others (paid or unpaid)

Excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate across age ranges

Good understanding of digital opportunities including social media, apps, websites

Budget management and reporting

4) Museum responsibilities

• Demonstrate a commitment to the principles of equality of opportunity and fairness of treatment • Respect all confidentialities, principles and practice of the Data Protection Act. • Undertake further training as deemed necessary • Assist in maintaining the security of the Museum and Museum visitors • Comply with Fire and Health and Safety policies and legislation and to ensure the compliance and awareness of volunteers and visitors to the building • Input and develop the Museum’s Environmental Sustainability Policy

• Will undertake full DBS check
