MEDIA INFORMATION July 14, 2015 Japan Race Promotion Inc. July 18 (Saturday) – July 19 (Sunday) 2015 Japanese Championship SUPER FORMULA Round 3 : Fuji Speedway Japan Race Promotion Inc. (President: Hiroshi Shirai, Head office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, Japan) today announced details of the “2015 Japanese Championship SUPER FORMULA, Round 3 Fuji Speedway,” scheduled to take place on July 18–19 at the Fuji Speedway Circuit (length = 4.563km) in Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan. The 2015 Japanese Championship is the only internationally accredited driver championship series in Asia, run over seven rounds and six circuits across Japan. Points accumulated by drivers during the season determine the final rankings. A total of 11 teams (entrants) and 19 drivers (cars) have entered this year’s Japanese Championship. Spectators have the chance to enjoy a domestic competition with world-class levels of racing, featuring seven top drivers from six countries (UK, Germany, Italy, Belgium, Brazil and India), driving cars with the same cornering speeds as the top Formula 1 racing cars. Fuji Speedway is a challenging course with a long back straight that allows drivers to reach speeds of more than 310km. The course also has high-speed corners that will test the limits of the race cars and a double apex corner in the final section that requires advanced driving technique. Drivers, cars and tires will also be affected by the high temperatures at this time of year. On what is likely to be a hot day, the course will put the concentration, stamina and mental strength of drivers to the test and make conditions tough for the turbo-charged engines, which generate much more heat than naturally aspirated engines.

PR Document 2020 Japanese Super Formula Championship Series Media Information August 27 2020 1 Super Formula : Then and Now In the 1950s, the Fédération Internationale de I’Automobile (FIA) launched the Drivers’ Championship to find the world’s fastest formula car drivers the purest form of racing machine. That ethos was passed on to all FIA national member organizations.Top-level formula motor racing has been held in Japan in various forms since 1973, when Formula 2000 was first launched. The competition evolved into Formula Two in 1978 and then Formula 3000 in 1987. Japan Race Promotion, Inc. (JRP) was established in 1995 and continued carrying the competition torch in 1996 under the name of Formula Nippon. In 2013, the name of the competition was changed again to Japanese Championship Super Formula and a bold plan was implemented to upgrade the race cars and lift the profile of the competition with the clear aim of spreading the appeal of Super Formula from Japan to other parts of Asia. Another hope was to turn the series into a third great open-wheel racing competition to go along with Formula One and IndyCar. The competition’s name was changed again in 2016 to Japanese Super Formula Championship. In 2017, BS Fuji began broadcasting live Super Formula races, giving many motorsport fans the chance to watch championship races on free-to-air television. In the early days, formula racing in Japan was led by top drivers such as Kunimitsu Takahashi, Kazuyoshi Hoshino and Satoru Nakajima, who later competed on the global stage in Formula One.

The team would be ready for 2019 season with a strong formation of car #1 and #5. WELCOME BACK TO BAKU Dear friends, On behalf of Baku City Circuit, please let me welcome you to the third successive Formula 1 race weekend in Azerbaijan. Last year’s race in Baku was widely recognised as the most exciting and dramatic race of the year – if not the decade – by members of the media, teams, drivers and the global F1 fanbase alike. It truly was a race that had it all culminating in the most unexpected podium line up in many years. The fact that this historic race occurred under our new event title as the FORMULA 1 AZERBAIJAN GRAND PRIX filled us with an even greater sense of pride and satisfaction for a job well done. This year we once again welcome the world to Baku at the slightly earlier date of late April to bear witness to the awe-inspiring sight of F1 cars negotiating one of the fastest and most testing circuits in Formula 1. Baku City Circuit’s winding, narrow sequences, 90-degree turns and high-speed straights - all set against the breath- taking backdrop of Baku’s UNESCO-protected old city, magnificent skylines and beautiful seaside promenade - have proven to be a major challenge to the current F1 grid, resulting in last year’s spectacular outcome and many on-track altercations. We are very confident of a similar explosion of drama, speed and bravery occurring once again for the 2018 edition. Furthermore, the off-track entertainment will be bigger and better than ever before with world-class music, visual and conceptual artists once again performing all along the specially constructed Fan Zone all weekend.

The 2016 Japanese SUPER FORMULA Championship Series is the only internationally accredited driver championship in Asia, run over seven rounds and six circuits across Japan. A total of 11 teams (entrants) and 19 drivers (cars) from Japan and overseas* are competing to win this year’s series. * 12 drivers from Japan and seven from five other countries: UK (2), India (1), Germany (1), Brazil (1) and Belgium (2) Round 4 of the series will be run over 52 laps of the Twin Ring Motegi Road Course (length = 4.801km) for a total distance of 249.652km. Round 3 at Fuji Speedway featured plenty of head-to-head driver action, but Joao Paulo de Oliveira (ITOCHU ENEX TEAM IMPUL), who was forced to retire in Round 2 at Okayama International Circuit due to mechanical problems caused by heavy rain, ultimately emerged from the melee to take a hard-fought victory. Kazuki Nakajima (VANTELIN TEAM TOM’S) secured his first points of the season with a second place finish, followed by promising rookie Yuhi Sekiguchi (ITOCHU ENEX TEAM IMPUL) in third. With all three drivers making their first appearance on the podium this season after languishing down the rankings, the battle for the top positions is now incredibly tight.

Event reports and results will be posted on Yokohama Rubber’s motorsports website as well various SNS specializing in motorsports topics. This release briefly introduces some of the main events Yokohama Rubber will be participating in this year. ■ GT/Touring Car Races <SUPER GT> SUPER GT races are contested in two classes, GT500 and GT300. GT500 is dominated by works teams from major automakers while GT300 teams tend to be more varied and individualistic. GT500 machines must meet certain specifications. GT300 races, however, are open to a variety of cars made in Japan and overseas. The GT300 machines can broadly be divided into three types: (1) automakers’ production cars that meet the international FIA GT3 specifications, (2) unique JAF-GT machines, and (3) the so-called “Mother Chassis" group of machines.
