Welcome to our open virtual ! Here is an opportunity to have your students compete in a horse show without the hassle of trailering nervous horses or riders to different environments. New this year – TR Instructors can compete in their own division class of choice. The idea behind the virtual horse show is for our riders to compete against others at different facilities in classes they can all enjoy. You just need to record your student riding the pattern/test or trail pattern and upload it to our private Facebook Page by midnight of June 18th Link to Facebook group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/942620995945910/

Here is a fun and different way to keep our riders engaged and working toward riding goals. We are looking forward to a successful horse show and would appreciate feedback from participating centers. We hope you will join us for our virtual horse show.

❖ All equitation classes will be judged on use of aids, control of horse and position of rider. Riders may compete in either English or Western tack. Adaptive tack meeting PATH guidelines is acceptable. ❖ Trail Classes judged on control of horse and completion of obstacle. Difficulty of obstacles completion of task taken into consideration. ❖ Classes will be divided by age, or by the supports the riders might need, such as leader, Leader & 1 support, independent, etc… ❖ Test/Patterns can be read. ❖ Entry’s may not cross enter from walk division into walk/ trot or walk/trot into Canter. ❖ The recording must be a continuous recording, not an edited version of multiple rides. Can be Facebook live recording. ❖ Any recording with spliced or edited rides will be disqualified. ❖ Please submit your recordings to the High Horses Virtual Horse Show Facebook Page. Be sure to ask for invitation before June 15th to get your videos loaded into the correct albums. ❖ Fees are $10.00 per class or $30.00 for 4 classes. ❖ Ribbons will be awarded 1st through 6th place & will be mailed with feedback. ❖ Entry Deadline : Midnight June 18, 2021

If you have a YouTube or Vimeo channel or other electronic platform and would like to email the link to your ride, or mail a thumb drive you are welcome to. Just be sure that we can tell which classes you are entering and we have received payment.

Ribbons & feedback will be mailed to riding centers after judging by June 29, 2021. Ribbons awarded 1st to 6th in each class.

Recording Guidelines: 1. Recording that is submitted must run continuously from start to finish. Spliced together recordings will be disqualified.

2. One rider in each recording.

3. Dressage tests should be recorded from “C” as if the judge was in a booth watching the competition.

4. Trail Classes should be recorded from Start & Finish Cones as if the judge was in a booth watching the competition.

Please use a well fitted & lead rope, Leading from the left.

1. A Enter working walk (leader on the left) 2. X Halt square, Salute, proceed working walk 3. C Turn left, proceed working walk 4. Trail Class: 1. Walk through starting cones 2. Weave 5 cones spaced 10 feet apart (may trot if that is your level) 3. Make a figure 8 around 2 barrels (may trot if that is your level) 4. Walk or trot over 4 ground poles 5. Back through L shape poles 6ft wide, No shorter than 10 for outside pole. 6. Walk, trot, or canter depending on level a 20 meter circle 7. Open mailbox, show mail and put back 8. Open gate, go through and close “gate”. (Can be rope tied to standards or anything that would be a safe barrier) 9. Finish through cones.

Beginner Dressage Test – Walk Test 1

Purpose: To allow beginner riders the opportunity to demonstrate their ability to navigate around the small arena. They must show accurate 20-meter circles and diagonal lines. They must enter and demonstrate a straight centerline. They should be able to halt close to a spot. (X) They must demonstrate a snappy salute.
