NARRATIVE EXPERIENCES OF SCHOOL COUNSELLORS USING CONVERSATION PEACE, A PEER MEDIATION PROGRAM BASED IN RESTORATIVE JUSTICE. by HEATHER M. MAIN B.Ed., University of British Columbia, 1982 Dipl.E.C.E., University of British Columbia, 1987 A THESIS SUBMITTED IN PARTIAL FULFILLMENT OF THE REQUIREMENTS FOR THE DEGREE OF MASTER OF ARTS in THE FACULTY OF GRADUATE STUDIES (Counselling Psychology) THE UNIVERSITY OF BRITISH COLUMBIA (Vancouver) August 2008 © Heather M. Main, 2008 11 Abstract This study narratively explores the experiences of five public school counsellors and one high school teacher using Conversation Peace, a restorative action peer mediation program published jointly in 2001 by Fraser Region Community Justice Initiatives Association (CJI), Langley, British Columbia, Canada, and School District #35, Langley, British Columbia, Canada. This categorical-content analysis (Lieblich, Tuval-Mashiach, & Zilber, 1998) resulted in data describing 20 common themes, 12 with similar responses, and 8 with varying responses amongst participants. Two of the similar findings were the crucial importance of(a) confidentiality within the mediation process, and (b) the school counsellor’s role within the overall and day-to-day implementation of this peer mediation program. Two of the varying findings were (a) the time involvement of the school counsellor within the peer mediation program, and (b) the differences in the number of trained peer mediators and peer mediations within schools. 111 .Table of Contents Abstract ii Table of Contents iii List -

James Taylor
JAMES TAYLOR Over the course of his long career, James Taylor has earned 40 gold, platinum and multi- platinum awards for a catalog running from 1970’s Sweet Baby James to his Grammy Award-winning efforts Hourglass (1997) and October Road (2002). Taylor’s first Greatest Hits album earned him the RIAA’s elite Diamond Award, given for sales in excess of 10 million units in the United States. For his accomplishments, James Taylor was honored with the 1998 Century Award, Billboard magazine’s highest accolade, bestowed for distinguished creative achievement. The year 2000 saw his induction into both the Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame and the prestigious Songwriter’s Hall of Fame. In 2007 he was nominated for a Grammy Award for James Taylor at Christmas. In 2008 Taylor garnered another Emmy nomination for One Man Band album. Raised in North Carolina, Taylor now lives in western Massachusetts. He has sold some 35 million albums throughout his career, which began back in 1968 when he was signed by Peter Asher to the Beatles’ Apple Records. The album James Taylor was his first and only solo effort for Apple, which came a year after his first working experience with Danny Kortchmar and the band Flying Machine. It was only a matter of time before Taylor would make his mark. Above all, there are the songs: “Fire and Rain,” “Country Road,” “Something in The Way She Moves,” ”Mexico,” “Shower The People,” “Your Smiling Face,” “Carolina In My Mind,” “Sweet Baby James,” “Don’t Let Me Be Lonely Tonight,” “You Can Close Your Eyes,” “Walking Man,” “Never Die Young,” “Shed A Little Light,” “Copperline” and many more. -

The song is available on iTunes, Spotify, Amazon and YouTube. The powerful, piano-only ballad was written by Oliver's late iconic grandfather, Ron Miller, who penned standards such as, "For Once in My Life," "Touch Me in the Morning," "A Place in the Sun," "Yester-me, Yester-you, Yesterday," "Heaven Help Us All," "I've Never Been to Me," "If I Could," "Everyone's a Kid at Christmas Time" (co-written by Oliver's maternal grandmother, Aurora Miller), and many more. Originally recorded by Stevie Wonder in 1967 for his one and only same-titled Christmas album, "Someday at Christmas" has also been covered by numerous other artists such as The Jackson 5, LeAnn Rimes, Mary J. Blige, Pearl Jam, Mario, Jackie Evancho, and Justin Bieber. "Someday at Christmas" was also featured as the "Best Christmas song of all time" in the recent film release, "Love, Simon," and was chosen by Apple in recent years for its holiday message to the world which included a 90-second ad starring Andra Day and Stevie Wonder. The new recording was produced by Oliver's mother, singer/songwriter/producer Lisa Dawn Miller (https://lisadawnmiller.com/) and is the first release from her new record label, LDM Music. -
