For the first time, 16 teams will contest the Women's EURO, giving the tournament an exciting new dimension. I would like to thank the Royal Netherlands Football Association, the KNVB, for their hard work, dedication, enthusiasm and cooperation in preparing the draw and the tournament. They have laid excellent foundations for a truly wonderful event, which will feature many of the best female players in Europe." KNVB president, Michael van Praag: "It is an honour to welcome the delegations of the teams and the international press in our country for the draw. I'm also very pleased that UEFA President Aleksander Čeferin will be present. The draw is always a very special moment because you can feel the excitement of the tournament as it gets closer. With the former still in charge, they earned a FIFA Women's World Cup bow in 2015, narrowly losing to eventual runners-up Japan in the last 16. With no qualification duties this time, they have kept themselves busy: their 7-0 win in Scotland and 4-2 loss in Germany in October were their tenth and 11th games of 2016, with Belgium and England to come this month. The recent retirement of forward Manon Melis has put the spotlight even more firmly on Miedema, whose goals – with the youngster fresh from winning the 2014 WU19 EURO – propelled the Netherlands to the World Cup. 6 UEFA WOMEN'S EURO 2017 - FINAL TOURNAMENT DRAW Tuesday 8 November 2016 - 17.30CET (17.30 local time) Match press kit Netherlands, Rotterdam Netherlands - Team facts UEFA Women's EURO record Pld W D L GF GA Overall 85 38 19 28 131 84 Final tournament 16 4 3 9 10 20 Qualifying 69 34 16 19 121 64 7 UEFA WOMEN'S EURO 2017 - FINAL TOURNAMENT DRAW Tuesday 8 November 2016 - 17.30CET (17.30 local time) Match press kit Netherlands, Rotterdam Netherlands - Head to head against teams in other pots Netherlands v Austria Netherlands v Belgium Netherlands v Denmark No previous meetings Competition Pld W D L GF GA Competition Pld W D L GF GA UEFA UEFA Women's 8 6 1 1 24 6 Women's 7 2 1 4 5 13 EURO EURO Netherlands v Iceland Netherlands v Italy Netherlands v Norway Competition Pld W D L GF GA No previous meetings Competition Pld W D L GF GA UEFA UEFA Women's 5 0 0 5 1 8 Women's 7 0 0 7 1 16 EURO EURO Netherlands v Portugal Netherlands v Russia Netherlands v Scotland No previous meetings Competition Pld W D L GF GA Competition Pld W D L GF GA UEFA UEFA Women's 2 1 1 0 2 1 Women's 1 1 0 0 4 0 EURO EURO Netherlands v Spain Netherlands v Sweden Netherlands v Switzerland Competition Pld W D L GF GA Competition Pld W D L GF GA Competition Pld W D L GF GA UEFA UEFA UEFA Women's 6 2 2 2 6 4 Women's 6 2 2 2 4 6 Women's 2 0 2 0 3 3 EURO EURO EURO 8 UEFA WOMEN'S EURO 2017 - FINAL TOURNAMENT DRAW Tuesday 8 November 2016 - 17.30CET (17.30 local time) Match press kit Netherlands, Rotterdam Germany Germany - Team profile Germany (holders) EURO 2013: Winners EURO best: Winners (1989, 1991, 1995, 1997, 2001, 2005, 2009, 2013) How they qualified: Group 5 winners, W8 D0 L0 F35 A0 Pts24 Coach: Steffi Jones One to watch: Anja Mittag (forward, Wolfsburg) What to watch out for: Germany's reign as European champions now stands at over two decades and they are on to their fourth coach in that time: the late Gero Bisanz handing over to Tina Theune, herself succeeded by Silvia Neid, who stepped down in favour of Jones after leading German to their first Olympic gold in Brazil this August. Jones's appointment had been announced well in advance and the former defender had been added to the coaching team, ensuring a smooth succession which is matched on the pitch.
