Specifically, the article conceptualises transmedia through the lens of charity politics. To do so, I use the Comic Relief charity campaign in the UK to trace how the social traditions, ways of life and sensibilities associated with Red Nose Day have evolved into emerging digital technologies to shape this charity campaign across the borders of multiple media platforms. Embracing how social specificity informs non-fictional transmedia, I position ‘infotainment’ as a key conceptual logic of non- fictional transmedia, showing how audiences follow the ‘ethos’ of Red Nose Day across multiple media. Säsongen inleds med tre dagars direktsändningar från drottningens diamantjubileum. Planet Earth Live är den största direktsända naturskildring BBC någonsin genomfört. BBC:s Natural History Unit, teamet bakom dokumentärer som Frozen Planet och Planet Earth, har experimenterat med tekniker och format i över tio år med målet att kunna sända naturdokumentärer av extremt hög kvalité live. 2012 är målet nått. Channel 4 faces a similar obligation under Section 288. 18.2 This document sets out the titles of programmes that the BBC, ITV, Channel 4 and Channel 5 certified were Made outside of London (MOL) productions during 2012. 18.3 Further information from Ofcom on how it monitors regional production can be found here. 18.4 The three criteria under which a programme can qualify as MOL are: 18.4.1 The production company must have a substantive business and production based in the UK outside the M25. A base will be taken to be substantive if it is the usual place of employment of executives managing the regional business, of senior personnel involved in the production in question, and of senior personnel involved in seeking programme commissions – ‘location’ in the data set out in this register; 18.4.2 At least 70% of the production budget (excluding the cost of on-screen talent, archive material, sports rights, competition prize-money and copyright costs) must be spent in the UK outside the M25 – ‘spend’ in the data set out in this register; and 18.4.3 At least 50% of the production talent (i.e. not on-screen talent) by cost must have their usual place of employment in the UK outside the M25.
