TERRITORIAL SOCIAL AND ECONOMIC DISPARITIES WITHIN THE DEVELOPMENT OF ARAD COUNTY IRENA MOCANU Romanian Academy – Institute of Geography, 12 Dimitrie Racovi ţă , 023993, Bucharest, Romania e-mail : [email protected] Abstract: Identifying the territorial disparities in the socio-economic development of Arad County implies taking the following six research stages: selecting the relevant statistical indicators, analysing their socio-economic significance, standardising the absolute values of the indicators, calculating the Complex Index of Development, delimitating and generally characterising both the favourable areas for development and the less favourable ones. The indicators were selected to reflect the specifics of agricultural, industrial and touristic activities, of the health and education systems, of the dwellings and public utility infrastructure, of the labour and inhabiting force. The territorial distribution of the value of the 24 indicators and secondary indexes emphasised in most cases a difference between the ATU (administrative territorial units) from the Eastern and Western parts of the Arad County. The Complex Index of Development (calculated as Hull Score) offered the possibility of separating the areas that were favourable for socio-economic development (generated by the urban areas along two longitudinal lineaments, e.g. Western and Central, and in the irregular areas in the Carpathian depression) from the less favourable areas (62% of the ATU in the Arad County). Draft Map and the List of Administrative Units
Defining the Scope of Application for the Strategy for Development of Sustainable Tourism of the Carpathians: Draft map and the list of administrative units The Carpathian Convention Working Group on Sustainable Tourism at its meeting on 12-14 May 2014, Bratislava, Slovakia, discussed the map presented below. The Working Group concluded that along with administrative units, the map should include the geographical scope of the Carpathians as it is currently defined by the Party. The geographical scope of the Carpathians defines the core area for implementing the actions outlined in the strategy, while the administrative borders are useful for decision making, resource allocation and monitoring purposes. The Working Group decided to develop two maps that may be useful during the implementation of the strategy: 1. A map of local administrative units on LAU1 level in EU countries, “raions” in Ukraine and municipalities in Serbia that also features the geographical scope of the Carpathians. Such map may be helpful when involving the authorities and stakeholders into project development and implementation and when action is needed for decision making and implementation on the smallest administrative level. 2. A map of administrative units at NUTS3 or NUTS2 level, “oblast” in Ukraine and districts in Serbia that also features the geographical scope of the Carpathians. Such map would be useful when action is needed on the regional decision level, and whenever the interlinkage of the Carpathians with surrounding areas is important (e.g. for optimizing -

The Late Bronze Age Pottery in the South-Eastern Carpathian Basin
SlovenSká archeológia lXVIII – 2, 2020, 253 – 296 DOI: https://doi.org/10.31577/slovarch.2020.68.12 THE LATE BRONZE AGE POTTERY IN THE SOUTH-EASTERN CARPATHIAN BASIN V IC TOR SAVA after the abandonment of some of the Middle Bronze age tell settlements, a series of developments and transformations lead to the construction of mega-forts in the lower Mureș region during the 15th c. Bc, followed by their subsequent destruction/demise during the 13th c. Bc. While most investigations in the aforementioned region have focused on the evolution of the most representative sites, a large number of artefacts, especially the pottery assemblage, have not yet been analysed in detail. The current paper aims to fill this gap by presenting a detailed analysis combining the available radiocarbon dates, the contexts from where these samples were taken, and the associated pottery finds. in this way we could establish time intervals expressed in absolute dates that frame the evolution of certain pottery shapes, decora- tion techniques and ornamental motifs. as a result of this analysis, it became clear that certain characteristics of the Middle Bronze age pottery have been perpetuated during the late Bronze age. another important observation was the widespread use of channelled pottery as early as the 16th c. Bc within some communities from this region. on the other hand, other communities in the area make extensive use of incised decoration until the 14th c. Bc. as a result, two different stylistic areas could be observed in the lower Mureș region. The results obtained in this paper underline the drawbacks of traditional relative chronologies based on the evolution of certain artefact types. -

RISCURI ŞI CATASTROFE, NR. XVI, VOL. 20, NR. 1/2017 IMBALANCED GEODEMOGRAPHIC STRUCTURES IN TÂRNAVE REGIONAL SYSTEM. CASE STUDY: POPULATION AGEING H.-V. CONȚIU1, ANDREEA CONȚIU2 ABSTRACT – Imbalanced geodemographical structures in Târnave regional system. Case study: population ageing. The demographic prospects of a regional system, the natural dynamics of the population, the potential of manpower resources, planning and forecast of its use, show a high degree of dependence on the demographical structure by age, the identified imbalances involving an increase in the vulnerability of the regional system and therefore an enhancement of geodemographical risks (acceleration of population ageing, decreasing population trend, disappearance of some rural settlements, socio-economic failures etc.). In this study, a special attention is paid to the analysis of ageing index and demographical dependency ratio, and the share of young and old people to the Târnave regional system, taking into account as milestones, the population censuses from 1910, 1992 2002 and 2011. Key words: demographic ageing, demographic dependency ratio, population age pyramid, young population, old population. 1. INTRODUCTION The evolution of main geodemographic indicators, along with the analysis of regional structures that are specific to the Târnave geodemographical system, faithfully reflect the socio-economic, political, religious, cultural, mentality, etc. changes which occurred in the Romanian, in general, and in the study area, particularly after the threshold year 1990. It is a known fact that the demographic prospects of a regional system, the natural dynamics of the population, the potential of manpower resources, planning and forecasting its use, to name a few items considered defining, show a high degree of dependence on the population structure by age. -

Biroul de presă T +40 372 115 694 F +40 372-87.33.42 [email protected] e-distributie.com COMUNICAT DE PRESĂ Timișoara, 18 decembrie 2018 – Un număr de 84 de echipe ale E-Distribuție și ale contractorilor societății sunt mobilizate în Banat și intervin în continuare în teren pentru remedierea avariilor provocate de căderile de zăpadă. Principalele cauze care au produs defecțiuni ale rețelei de distribuție a energiei electrice au fost copacii rupți sub greutatea zăpezii depuse care au căzut peste liniile de înaltă și medie tensiune, rupând sau contorsionând conductoarele și ducând la spargerea izolatorilor. E-Distribuție Banat a suplimentat numărul echipelor de intervenție, inclusiv cu echipe ale contractorilor societății și echipe ale celorlalte societăți E-Distribuție din Dobrogea și Muntenia, intervențiile fiind însă îngreunate de accesul dificil la elementele de rețea aflate în zone izolate, înzăpezite. De asemenea, în cursul ultimelor două zile au fost instalate 30 de grupuri electrogene, în special la unitățile critice cum ar fi spitale și stații de pompare a apei, acolo unde situația a permis aceste soluții, pentru a asigura alimentarea clienților până la revenirea la schema normală. În data de 18 decembrie, la ora 16.00, situația era următoarea: - în judeţul Timiș erau nealimentate 28 de linii electrice aeriene de medie tensiune parțial, fiind afectate 44 de localităţi. - în județul Caraș Severin erau nealimentate 21 de linii electrice aeriene de medie tensiune parțial, fiind afectate 27 de localităţi. - în judeţul Arad erau nealimentate 24 linii electrice aeriene de medie tensiune parțial, fiind afectate 24 localităţi. - în județul Hunedoara erau nealimentate 11 de linii electrice aeriene de medie tensiune parțial, fiind afectate 16 de localităţi.
