What is lovelier than being out and about, cycling along the banks of lakes and just letting your spirit soar in a marvellous natural landscape? The cycle tour through the Salzkammergut and the Trumer Seen lake area is wonderfully suited for this. Only a few kilometres beyond Salzburg, you will be greeted by the luxury of a unique natural panorama. The gentle, hilly landscape of Salzburg’s alpine foothills has a charm all of its own. You will cycle through meadows and moorlands to Oberndorf – the place associated with the Christmas carol "Silent Night" - and also to the old imperial town of Bad Ischl. In a way, you will be travelling through a whole world of clichés transformed into realities. The ten lakes round tour is active recreation, experiencing nature and enjoying many attractions, such as the Schafberg mountain and the Orth castle. Characteristics of the route Challenging The terrain along the banks of the lakes is completely flat. In-between the lakes is mainly hilly. Most of the tour is on cycle paths and on roads with little to no traffic from lake to lake. Only for a few short sections, cycling on busier roads is unfortunately unavoidable. Arrival / Parking/ Departure Salzburg central station Salzburg airport Public multi-storey car park costs approx. EUR 65 per week, to be paid at the time, no reservation possible/necessary Eurobike Original Tour: The lakes tour with Charm | 2021 season | Version/date: 05.05.2020 2/6 Itinerary Day 1: Arrival in Salzburg Welcome briefing and bike fitting. Take a stroll through the famous Getreidegasse and across the impressive Residenzplatz. Day 2: Salzburg – Lake Mondsee approx. 40 km Today you will cycle along the Salzach and then along the disused Ischler railway route until you get to Eugendorf. You will then cycle across lush meadows on the cycle path to Thalgau and the foot of the Drachenwand, an impressive rock massif that stretches all the way to lake Mondsee. The lake side cycle path will then lead you into the centre of the same named town, which is well-known - and not only because of the Sound of Music! Day 3: Lake Mondsee – Lake Attersee – Lake Traunsee approx. 50/70 km Next you will cycle along lake Mondsee’s shore until you get to Lake Attersee. This is the largest lake in Salzkammergut and is not only well-known due to its deep-green colour. Many celebrities from near and far live by this lake in magnificent estates. Either by boat (only if you arrive from 01.07. till 31.08.) or by bike along the lakeside, you will head to Weyregg and then through Aurachtal past Lake Traunsee to Gmunden with its famous palace and the ceramic bells in the town hall tower. You only have a few more kilometres until you get to Traunkirchen, where you will be staying overnight. Day 4: Lake Traunsee – Lake Hallstatt approx. 45 km The bike path takes you along the edge of Lake Traunsee until you get to the saline town of Ebensee. From here you will cycle along the river Traun until you get to Bad Ischl with its Imperial past. Once you have crossed the health resort of Bad Goisern, you will finally get to Lake Hallstatt. Impressed by the amazing scenery, you will cycle along the lake to the “loveliest lakeside town in the world” – Hallstatt. You will stay overnight in the centre of the village. Day 5: Lake Hallstatt– Lake Wolfgangsee approx. 40 km Today you head back along the river Traun until you get to Bad Ischl. You should definitely go to the famous Café Zauner where you can try the sweet specialities (included in the price). Emperor Franz Josef and Sissi both will have enjoyed a Gugelhupf cake here. Fuelled up, you will continue cycling along Lake Wolfgang and you will enjoy the atmosphere around your famous hotel, the “weißen Rössl”. Day 6: Rest day by Lake Wolfgangsee You have a wide array of possible activities for an active day by Austria’s most famous lake. We recommend the journey with the cog railway up to the top of mount Schafberg (1782m). This is to be organised by yourself. From the top you get a beautiful view of the surrounding area. Another option is a boat ride (also organised by yourself). A day swimming in the crystal clear water of Lake Wolfgangsee is an alternative way to have an active day… Eurobike Original Tour: The lakes tour with Charm | 2021 season | Version/date: 05.05.2020 3/6 Day 7: Lake Wolfgangsee – Salzburg approx. 50 km Today you cycle along the bike path to St. Gilgen and on to the deep blue Fuschlsee. From there lakeyoucycle to Lake Hintersee and through the Strubklamm gorge into the Wiestal valley. The ride through the Glasenbachklamm gorge is impressive and will bring you to the Salzachtal valley. Just before Salzburg, a diversion to Schloss Hellbrunn is well worth it. Your destination is the festival and Mozart town of Salzburg with its many tourist attractions. Day 8: Departure or extension 2021 arrival dates Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 03.04. – 09.10. Overwhelmingly beautiful: Lake Wolfgangsee with all its possibilities for recreation, relaxation and exercise. Majestic: The mountains with unforgettable views down to the lakes. Typically Austrian: The warm hospitality, the culinary delights, the relaxed cosiness, the gentle Alpine pastures, the great hi- king and winter experiences. In a word: Legendary. Experience the good life at the Weisses Rössl at Lake Wolfgangsee. 1 FOR MY RÖSSL GUESTS Dearest Rössl guests, there was already so much that I had wanted to tell you when we started “My Rössl” one year ago. I have so much to share about festivals at the Rössl and the year of legends at the Lake Wolfgangsee. Then a little virus came along that changed the whole world. What you now hold in your hands is our lifeblood. After all, on some days all we have left is our belief that the legendary Weisses Rössl, which has existed for over 500 years, will continue to do so for a long time to come. Our confidence is thanks to you and all of our guests. I would be remiss in not expressing my gratitude at this stage for your loyalty. Thank you to all of you who have been with us at Lake Wolf- gangsee these past weeks and finally gave us the opportunity to bring joy to people.

  • On the Concealment of Ante Pavelić in Austria in 1945-1946
UDK: 314.743(436)-05 Pavelić, A.''1945/1946'' Izvorni znanstveni članak Received: September 5, 2011 Accepted: November 7, 2011 ON THE CONCEALMENT OF ANTE PAVELIĆ IN AUSTRIA IN 1945-1946 Ante DELIĆ* Based on available American and British documents and thus-far unconsulted papers left behind by Ante Pavelić, the leader of the Independent State of Croatia, the author analyzes Pavelić’s concealment in Austria and the role of Western agencies therein. Some of the relevant literature indicates that the Catholic Church and Western agencies took part in Pavelić’s concealment. The author concludes that all such conjecture lacks any foundation in the available sources. Key words: Ante Pavelić, Western allies, extradition, Yugoslavia Historiography is generally familiar with the fate of the army of the Inde- pendent State of Croatia and the civilian population which, at the end of the war in early May 1945, withdrew toward Austria in fear of advancing commu- nist forces, with the aim of surrendering to the Allies. These people were ex- tradited to the Yugoslav army with the explanation that they would be treated in compliance with the international laws of war. As it transpired, this “treat- ment” was one of the most tragic episodes in the history of the Croatian nation, known under the terms Bleiburg and the Way of the Cross.1 A portion of these refugees who managed to elude this fate ended up in Allied refugee camps, mostly in Italy, Austria and Germany.2 However, even in these camps, besides * Ante Delić, MA, University of Zadar, Zadar, Republic of Croatia 1 Cf.

Grab 4: Skelett in Rückenlage, Hände gefaltet. Verkohlte Holz reste vom Sarg. Keine Beigaben.
