Because no taxonomic paper on the Chrysomelidae existed for the state, the present work with the subfamilies Donaciinae, Criocerinae, Clytrinae, Chlamisinae, Eumolpinae, and Chrysomelinae of the eleven subfamilies found in Oklahoma was inaugurated. The chrysomelids are a large family of small or medium-sized beetles. They are generally host specific and sometimes cause extensive damage to field crops and horticultural plants. However, the Donaciinae, Clytrinae, and Chlamisinae are of little economic interest. The economically important species belong to the Criocerinae, Eumolpinae, and·Chrysomelinae. The larvae and adults of these feed on the foliage of plants, except the larvae of Eumolpinae which are primarily rootfeeders. Included in this work are 29 genera contain- ing 59 species of which 54 species are known to occur in the state and five. species are likely to occur here. In the last few decades, it has expanded its distribution to new regions in the North and Eastern Mediterranean basin. Chrysolina americana feeds on plants of the Lamiaceae family, such as Rosmarinus officinalis, Lavandula spp., Salvia spp., Thymus spp. and others. Chrysolina americana is considered a pest, as many of its host plants are of commercial importance and are often used as ornamentals in house gardens and green public spaces. In this work, we report the first occurrence of C. americana in Cyprus and we present its establishment, expansion and distribution across the Island, through recordings for the period 2015 – 2020. The study was initiated from a post on a Facebook group, where the species was noticed in Cyprus for the first time, indicating that social media and citizen science can be particularly helpful in biodiversity research. -

ZooKeys 720: 5–22. https://doi.org/10.3897/zookeys.720.13963 Abstract Chrysomelinae is one of the largest subfamilies in Chrysomelidae, yet much basic information remains un- known for Neotropical species. The present study aims to compile the first regional list of Chrysomelinae for the State of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and assemble natural history traits obtained from our fieldwork from 2005 to 2010 in Serra dos Órgãos National Park, a mountainous area of Atlantic forest. The species list was compiled from data from field work, collections, and literature, and recorded a total of 100 species, belonging to 21 gen- era in one tribe (Chrysomelini) and three subtribes: Chrysolinina (91 species), Chrysomelina (eight species) and Entomoscelina (one species).
