2016 Spring Newsletter
Official Fan Club Site—www.juicenewtonfanclub.com 2016 Spring Newsletter Hi Everyone, The support and love for Juice has never been as powerful and as proven as it was over the last few months. This issue of the newsletter will feature some new information about Juice and will introduce you to the 2016 “O” Award winner. Paul 1 A Hit All Over Again I am pleased to announce that Juice is once again on the charts with the song that is as classy as she is. ‘Angel of The Morning’ is once again on the charts thanks to the blockbuster movie ‘Deadpool.’ (more on this later) A whole new generation of fans are listening to Juice and have joined the fan club or in- quired about the song. Congratulations Juice!! 'Deadpool' Director Tim Miller and Songwriter Chip Taylor on the Film's Soft-Rock Center- piece, 'Angel in the Morning' (http://www.billboard.com/articles/business/6882938/behind-deadpool-soundtrack-tim-miller-chiptaylor-juice-newton-angel-in-the-morning) “There'll be no strings to bind your hands / Not if my love can't bind your heart.” That’s the first thing you hear over the Marvel logo in the No. 1 movie in the country, Deadpool. As '80s pop country singer Juice Newton sings about an illicit love affair she just can’t shake in her 1981 hit “Angel of the Morning,” Ryan Reynolds’ f-bomb blasting anti-hero gets busy kicking ass. It makes zero sense on the surface, and yet director Tim Miller says that the song was the only track con- sidered to open the superhero flick that grossed another $55 million over the weekend to easily hold on to the No. -

This edition of the JNFC Summer Newsletter is full of information about Juice that is sure to get all members excited. I wish everyone, a very happy and fun and most of all safe summer. Sweet, Sweet Juice The year was 1977. Two very talented songwriters collaborated on a song about a someone who had to be set right by their significant every day in order for things to be right. The song was a big hit for the popular brother and sister duo The Carpenters. The song writers were Otha Young and Juice Newton and the song was "Sweet, Sweet Smile." Many people have asked and wondered why Juice never recorded this song herself. They need not wonder any longer. Juice has recorded this classic song on her new compilation "The Ultimate Hits Collection." Juice has recorded a modern rendition of this song. Juice peforms a different tempo and this of course differs from the version that The Carpenters recorded. Juice gave the song a new personality. Juice Newton Summer Newsletter 1999
Juice Newton Summer Newsletter 1999 Hello Everyone, I hope everyone remembered to wear their sun block. It’s been a wonderful summer for me and I hope for all of you as well. Juice has had a fast paced busy summer. Juice has had a jammed pack schedule. In between performing and taking time to be with her family, she has been working on a new album. I’ll get to that later. Promotion Juice was mentioned and given some promotion on KYXY San Diego’s Soft Favorites Radio. The station played Juice’s “Angel of The Morning”. After it was done, the DJ said it was Juice Newton and that Juice can be heard now singing the “My Barona” jingle. Barona is a Native American Casino in San Diego County. It was sure nice to hear something like that. I personally heard that driving home from work a few weeks ago. GO JUICE! REVIEWS I have recently asked via newsletters and the Internet Site, to have reviews sent to me so that I can post them at the site. The response has been great! So, thanks to all of you for that. Please, keep them coming. CHIT CHAT I will be online to chat with you live!! That’s right you can chat with me online! If you are an AOL member simply place JUICEFANS on your buddy list. If you are not an AOL member, you can download their Free Instant Messenger software from AOL.COM and place Juicefans on your Buddy List. Simply send me an IM and I will be glad to respond. -

Friday, Oct. 30, 1981 the IExpunent 11.. 1 . - Vol ume 73 Issue 9 The Student Newspaper of Montana State Untvers1ty, Bozeman . MT Dorms brace for Cat-Griz Weekend By SAM LOWMILLER Things will be a little more exciting than usual this weekend, as the campus will be invaded by hordes of students from Missoula, coming to witness the "Cat-G riz" football battle. Over the years, the huge rivalry and high amounts of school spirit have occasionally led to vandalism or other problems in the residence halls. To combat occurrences of this nature this year, Elaine Green, director of housing, has beefed up security crackdowns of dorms for the weekend. Extra precautions include having the hall doors locked early. The only guests to be allowed in the dormitory halls are thoughs escorted by a resident. The escort policy will be in effect in all halls. In the co-ed and men's halls, this will take effect when the outside doors are locked. Green also reminds all on campus residents that they will be held responsible for the actions of their guests. and to be aware of the rules which apply to the registration of guests. Each res ident is allowed no more than one overnight guest and they must be registered at the dormitory desk. Failure to register guests will result in a $10 charge. Of course, one of the Big "Cat-Grizzly Weekend" traditions is The MSU campus has grown since the registered ·above picture was taken. Note the old partying. Parties planned in the dorms are required to be stadium at Gatlin Field and the abse nce in advance and approved by the Hall Supervisor Several students of the PE complex. -
Fall Newsletter 2002
Spring Newsletter 2003 Hello Everyone, First of all, I want to wish every member a Happy Spring! The flowers are blossoming and the birds are singing. The only thing more beautiful is hearing Juice sing her songs! I have a lot of news to share with everyone. So, let’s move on with the latest information about Juice. HAPPY BIRTHDAY JUICE! The entire JNFC wishes to extend our best wishes to Juice for her birthday! “Juice on behalf of the entire JNFC let me wish you a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY February 18, 2003!!” CONCERT NEWS Juice performed at the Upland High School Auditorium on February 22, 2003. This show was a benefit for programs in the Upland CA community. Such programs included Pop Warner Football, Upland Dance Team, Upland High School Band, Spanish Club and others. A delicious feast provided by the Outback Steakhouse was served prior to the show. Juice came on and delivered a powerful performance to a crowd of about 800. 1 U.K. COUNTRY PEOPLE NEWS Juice was featured in the February issue of “Country Music People” a magazine in the United Kingdom. The article is called ‘Juice Newton Queen of Hearts.’ Juice talked about her career. Juice discussed selecting songs for the “JUICE” album and how she and producer Richard Landis listened to 300 demo songs. She obviously picked the right songs with hits like “Angel of The Morning” and “Queen of Hearts.” When asked about “The Sweetest Thing”, Juice confirmed that Otha Young wrote the song and that they recorded that song twice, once on RCA in the 1970’s and again on the “JUICE” album in 1981. -
Record Dreams Catalog
RECORD DREAMS 50 Hallucinations and Visions of Rare and Strange Vinyl Vinyl, to: vb. A neologism that describes the process of immersing yourself in an antique playback format, often to the point of obsession - i.e. I’m going to vinyl at Utrecht, I may be gone a long time. Or: I vinyled so hard that my bank balance has gone up the wazoo. The end result of vinyling is a record collection, which is defned as a bad idea (hoarding, duplicating, upgrading) often turned into a good idea (a saleable archive). If you’re reading this, you’ve gone down the rabbit hole like the rest of us. What is record collecting? Is it a doomed yet psychologically powerful wish to recapture that frst thrill of adolescent recognition or is it a quite understandable impulse to preserve and enjoy totemic artefacts from the frst - perhaps the only - great age of a truly mass art form, a mass youth culture? Fingering a particularly juicy 45 by the Stooges, Sweet or Sylvester, you could be forgiven for answering: fuck it, let’s boogie! But, you know, you’re here and so are we so, to quote Double Dee and Steinski, what does it all mean? Are you looking for - to take a few possibles - Kate Bush picture discs, early 80s Japanese synth on the Vanity label, European Led Zeppelin 45’s (because of course they did not deign to release singles in the UK), or vastly overpriced and not so good druggy LPs from the psychedelic fatso’s stall (Rainbow Ffolly, we salute you)? Or are you just drifting, browsing, going where the mood and the vinyl takes you? That’s where Utrecht scores. -
Juice Newton Online Fanclub Spring 1999 Newsletter
Juice Newton Online Fanclub Spring 1999 Newsletter Dear Fans, I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season and have had a great winter! The sun is shining and the birds are singing. So, let’s now look forward to spring. What better way to start spring off then with news about Juice? Casino Change The Barona Native American Casino is located in San Diego California. The past three years has seen Kenny Rogers doing commercials endorsing the casino and singing their jingles. Recently, Kenny was dropped as the spokesperson. It was an amicable decision. The Barona Casino has chosen Juice Newton for the new ad campaign! Juice will be singing the jingles on the television commercials and radio ads. The casino wanted to go with a warm filled female voice. I certainly think they made the right choice. I feel extremely fortunate, I live in San Diego and have seen the commercials with Juice singing the “My Barona” jingle. Where Is That CD? Recently, I have had numerous emails about the “Can’t Wait All Night” CD. It was available again at one point last year. We must remember that when a record company decides to take it out of print again, it is beyond anyone’s control. The best solution I can offer those of you who are or may be looking for it, is to write me and ask to be posted on the trading section of the Fanclub’s web site. This has worked out great for other fans! Should anyone know of a place where this CD may be purchased, please let me know. -

HUMANISM and the TRADITION of DISSENT Edward L
Humanism Today, HUMANISM AND THE TRADITION OF DISSENT Edward L. Ericson James Madison described custom as "second nature." making his observation in the context of expressing skepticism of the social engineering being attempted by the reformer, Robert Owen. Such dreamers presumed to be "first nature." Madison's lack of illusion about the easy malleability of human character in a living society has gained impressive justification in the failure of every attempt since his time to redesign "the new man" of revolutionary vision. If it is difficult for psychotherapy to alter the deeply ingrained character traits of a maturing individual, it can hardly be simpler to command the radical transformation in mass of human traits formed over time within a deeply rooted and dynamic historical community. This fact was understood at least as early as the tradition that denied to Moses and his generation admission into the promised land. Indeed, the Biblical writers - or rather the immemorial storytellers from whom they derived their lore - were wildly romantic to suppose that a mere forty years of desert wandering - the passing of but a single generation - would suffice to effect the transformation that their legend sought to explain. Forty generations, rather than forty summers, might be a more insightful rendering of the tale. At least when we come nearer to our own time we can say with considerable confidence that the cluster of cultural traits that produced and still supports the Bill of Rights and the tradition of liberty of conscience as we know it has involved some forty generations in the English speaking world - even without considering any of that culture's near relatives and antecedents in Western civilization. -
