Juice Newton Summer Newsletter 1999

Hello Everyone,

I hope everyone remembered to wear their sun block. It’s been a wonderful summer for me and I hope for all of you as well. Juice has had a fast paced busy summer. Juice has had a jammed pack schedule. In between performing and taking time to be with her family, she has been working on a new album. I’ll get to that later.

Promotion

Juice was mentioned and given some promotion on KYXY San Diego’s Soft Favorites Radio. The station played Juice’s “Angel of The Morning”. After it was done, the DJ said it was Juice Newton and that Juice can be heard now singing the “My Barona” jingle. Barona is a Native American Casino in San Diego County. It was sure nice to hear something like that. I personally heard that driving home from work a few weeks ago. GO JUICE!

REVIEWS

I have recently asked via newsletters and the Internet Site, to have reviews sent to me so that I can post them at the site. The response has been great! So, thanks to all of you for that. Please, keep them coming.

I would like to ask you fans, what you would like to read about and or see on the web site and the newsletters. It’s important too me to have this feedback. This is your club and I want it to cater to your needs. So, please do let me know.

New Album

Juice has a new album coming out! It’s on Renaissance Records! Their link can be found at the FANCLUB web site. The album’s title is “American Girl”! There is also a single due out soon called, “They Never Made It To Memphis”. This album has 10 new songs! Two of the 12 track CD are previously released tunes from Juice’s current CD. Those tunes are the title cut of this new album “American Girl” and “The Trouble With Angels”.

The new album is set for a mid September release! As soon as dates are confirmed, I will post them at the FANCLUB site. Once more the title of Juice’s new album is “American Girl”.

A Salute

I wanted to take a moment and salute a lady who means a lot too me and everyone who was ever a part of the original JNFC (Juice Newton Fanclub). Maxine Young ran this club with nothing less then first class.

Maxine is the mother of Otha Young. Otha has been part of Juice’s career for many years. You might as well say at the beginning. Maxine has always been patient and kind and very loyal to Juice and Juice’s fans.

When the original club closed down after 10 years, I felt like a part of myself was going away. Then along came the Online Fanclub idea from Kay Walker, the co-founder of this club. Although I never lost contact with Maxine, I was now able to give back what she has given me and hundreds of others over the years.

Maxine always gave. Those three words describe her best. She never asked for a thank you but all fans gave her one anyway. She set the standards for all fanclubs & agencies similar to go by. Give respect and you get it back.

I could go on and on about what a fabulous lady Maxine Young is. So, I will summarize this from my point of view.

“Maxine, thank you for everything you have done for me and fans throughout the years. I don’t believe I would be where I am with Juice, if it wasn’t for you. You helped me concerning Juice so many times. You are my role model for this club. You are what we stand for.

I receive letters from fans who remember you and they all say how much they miss & love you and how they loved the way you ran the club.
