Predo, 1 and rosaLina g. de guzman ABSTRACT The study was conducted to identify risk-efficient cropping schedules for corn farmers in Matalom, Leyte, Philippines using stochastic dominance analysis of simulated yields, given the El Niño Southern Oscillation (ENSO) forecasts during the cropping period. Actual weather data, with missing observations estimated using a weather generating software, were used in constructing weather data sets. These data, together with crop parameters and soil characteristics in the study site, were used as inputs to generate probability distributions of yields during different planting schedules. The simulated yield distributions were classified according to the ENSO phases prevailing during the cropping period. Stochastic dominance analysis was applied on the yield distributions to determine the first-degree stochastic dominance (FSD) set and the second-degree stochastic dominance (SSD) set. Finally, stochastic dominance with respect to a function (SDWRF) was applied on the SSD set to identify risk-efficient schedules at different levels of risk aversion. 1 Remberto A. It looks at the costs and benefits of seven major subproject (SP) categories that cover 1,175 completed and ongoing subprojects (e.g., domestic water supply [both pump and gravity], roads construction and improvement, elementary school buildings, barangay health centers, and day care centers). These seven major categories accounted for 82 percent of total subproject costs. The main findings from the analysis are: 1. The Project overall is economically beneficial. Based on available information and plausible assumptions, the Project overall will generate a conservatively estimated economic internal rate of return of 21 percent and a net present value of Philippine peso (PHP) 1.03 billion. It is therefore considered economically beneficial. The rates of return for the subprojects ranged from 16 percent for day care centers to 65 percent for water supply projects. These results are conservative, considering that other benefits and subprojects were not examined, including benefits from investments to strengthen community participation and local governance. 2. The Project overall is sensitive to a 20 percent increase in costs and 20 percent benefit reduction, with some subprojects more sensitive than others. For the major subproject categories, we show that rates of return for road improvement and school building subprojects are highly sensitive to a 20 percent increase in costs; they are moderately sensitive for health and day care centers, and are not as sensitive for water supply (gravity and pump) and new road construction.

This is done to assist administrators and faculty in the enhancement of the Bachelor of Science in Information Technology program of Palompon Institute of Technology- Tabango Campus from school year 2011 to 2016. The study used the descriptive type of research method with 98 graduates who served as respondents. Results revealed that majority of the graduates were gainfully employed and were working with jobs that were related to the course where they gained training with. However, forty (40) percent of the total respondents were unemployed as revealed in the study. Most of those who were unemployed cited that lack of experience and no job opening as their reasons for being unemployed. Therefore it is strongly recommended that graduating students before graduation must be given ample time to experience pre-employment examination and interviews. Furthermore, the school concerned should find ways to establish more linkages with establishments which can cater with the employability of the graduates, so as to assist them with their employment after graduating in the course.

Adona, HeadCAS ,and Joseph Cornejo, EN, interview a household Amidst the pandemic, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Leyte Provincial Statistical Office conducted the 2020 Census of Population from September 1-30, 2020 pursuant to Batas Pambansa Blg. 72, Executive Order No. 32, and Republic Act 10625. A total of 2,371 hired fieldmen were deployed to 43 municipalities of Leyte to interview all households and institutional population to count all members and determine their respective demographics and socio-economic characteristics. Among the total manpower, 1, 914 were enumerators, 361 were team supervisors, 78 were Census Area Supervisors and 18 were regular staff of the Office which served as Head Census Area Supervisors. Prior to above enumeration period, 6-day trainings in all cities/municipalities were administered in order to fully equip the CPH Manpower with the right concepts and rules governing the conduct of the census.     EWARN Weekly Summary Report Early Warning Alert and Response Network Post-Typhoon Yolanda Week 11 | Epidemiological Week No. 6 | 19th January to 25th January 2014 HIGHLIGHTS This week, 75 health facilities reported 13,544 total consultations in typhoon-affected areas of Region VI and VIII by SPEED Acute respiratory infection accounted for 31% of total consultations, most among SPEED conditions reported in the current reporting period. Ormoc City’s major responses to the increased dengue cases includes social preparation, environmental sanitation/health education and advocacy, environmental control measures (clean up drive), vector and larva control and surveillance The Regional Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit (RESU) reported seven cases and one death from suspected typhoid fever from Kananga, Leyte. A field investigation was done and rectal swabs were sent to the Eastern Visayas Regional Medical Center (EVRMC) for culture and sensitivity Two suspected cases with one death from acute watery diarrhea were reported from Jaro, Leyte on 29 Jan 2014. Investigation is on-going. OVERALL SPEED REPORTING FROM TYPHOON-AFFECTED AREAS Overall, the number of facilities reporting remained relatively stable in the current week, with 75 facilities reporting this week and 78 last week. Total consultations declined by 4%, from 14,064 last week to 13,544 this week. Biliran in Eastern Visayas continued reporting this week.
