I do enjoy the new additions to the team, as well as the storylines here. This is a pretty good version of the Teen Titans. Nov 12, Cait rated it it was ok Shelves: comics , yay-for-libraries , currently-unowned , serial , series-dcu-comics. The Titans' infighting starts getting people hurt or killed. But they're trying! So I suppose that's something. The new lineup and open invitation for teamups looks promising. I wish this whole book hadn't felt like maybe a third of every story going on, though. And Robin, I love you, but it looks like a really good thing that you're handing the Titans over to . Hilarious that you brought along Spoiler for moral support. You've been doing a crap job at inspirational leadership. More R The Titans' infighting starts getting people hurt or killed. More Red Devil and Blue Beetle for the win. I wish Ravager would come back, though. Ah, I have just looked up the Dark Side Club. Final Crisis, eh. It sounded like a more interesting storyline than that. Major things happen in this collection: Robin leaves the Titans, Cassie gets out from under Ares's thumb, and we have yet another new roster. But it's all just so rushed. Cassie's confrontation with Ares's son is over before we have time to process him as a threat see, I don't even remember his name, or if he even had one. Robin's departure was probably editorial mandate, and Spoiler's very brief, low dialog appearance was a waste of a great character. A character does die here, apparently per Major things happen in this collection: Robin leaves the Titans, Cassie gets out from under Ares's thumb, and we have yet another new roster. A character does die here, apparently permanently, but I was rattled with how little attention was paid to the death. Contrast that with the lovely send off Bart got a few issues back. Kid Eternity also signs on, complete with his power to summon the dead on the Titans, he has a lot to choose from. It was interesting to see Wendy and Marvin lifted from the old Super Friends cartoon and established in the DC universe proper. Here they are teen geniuses hired on by Cyborg to oversee the Titans West Coast headquarters. I thoroughly enjoyed this especially Static. I miss the Milestone comics- I was glad those characters are now part of the DC universe. I hope he stays on with the Titans for a long time. Look, this is a very different Teen Titans than what I signed up for after , but it just is really working? First we get an arc with Robin and Cassie dealing with drama, with one of the two leaving the team. Jun 09, Lizzy rated it liked it. This book felt like a tv show where all the main actors are leaving. I much prefer the other teen titans we have been introduced to over the course of the series, so I didn't care about their recruitment and I don't want to try to get attached to any newbies that join the team at this point. Some with no reason. It is the Teen Titans which makes it good. Still I'd like some story information to make sense. Not just made up off-screen stuff. A few god bits, but on the whole you need to be pretty familiar with the ongoing story to make the most of it. Aug 05, John Yelverton rated it really liked it. Another enjoyable edition of the book series, but the influx of new characters really makes me feel that they've jumped the shark. New charcters introduced, the fight with Ares was a great part of comic The end leaves you asking whats next. Thats a pretty good graphic novel to me.. Nov 27, Anne Barwell rated it it was amazing Shelves: graphic-novel , library. Liked the plot and artwork. Good character development and tied in well with what else was going on in DC verse. Seeing no issues with recruiting a baby to a super team, Baby Wildebeest would be drafted into the Titans, where he would go on to get knocked out by Superman. Baby would later die at the hands of -Prime, only to reemerge as a Black Lantern. Since then, Baby has stayed dead, and after making no appearances recently, DC seems to prefer to keep it that way. Since debuting in , the Teen Titans have had plenty of forgettable members grace their ranks over the years. Kiran Singh, a. was then brought back in the New 52, where she was given a new smokey appearance. Solstice would remain a member of the team during the entirety of the New 52, only for the ill-fated reboot to be shelved to make way for DC Rebirth. Solstice has yet to appear since Rebirth, but since the hero failed to make an impact with readers twice, it seems as though DC has no interest in trying a third time. The DC Universe is no stranger to legacy characters. But it was Grant Emerson that would carry on Pratt's legacy when he took the name Damage. After the events of Zero Hour, Redwing would be wiped from existence, never to return. We're willing to bet DC has no interest in reviving this zero any time soon. It isn't often that a character is the recipient of near universal hate, but then again, it isn't often that a character is as lame as the Joker's Daughter. Since debuting in , Duela Dent has jumped for villain to hero and back again, but much like her muddled past, fans are just left feeling confused over this half-baked nobody. Considering Joker's Daughter's spotty criminal career, we're willing to bet DC would rather fans forget about the character's brief runs with the Teen Titans. With seemingly no plans to introduce Joker's Daughter in Rebirth, DC is likely hoping Titans fans forget about this mess of a member. Listen, we all know the Teen Titans haven't always set the highest bar for membership; after all, this is the team that recruited a baby and a caveman. Gnarrk, the caveman in question, has fought alongside the Titans since the early '70s, and managed to run with the team longer than some of the Titans' biggest members. But fans would be hard pressed to remember DC's take on Captain Caveman, and it seems as though DC would prefer to keep it this way. Gnarrk joined the Titans pre-Crisis as a time-displaced caveman, where he would learn limited speech from team member Lilith, who would come to love the caveman. While comic book heroes rarely stay dead, Pantha has remained six feet under ever since, and DC seems to want this D-grade Titan to rest in peace. While the honor of receiving a kid sidekick is normally reserved for the top tier superheroes, sometimes smaller heroes manage to recruit a young ward. Such was the case with Blue Devil, a demonic hero that fought alongside young fan Eddie Bloomberg, who would take the name Kid Devil. As an obscure sidekick and an obscure Titans member, this is one hero DC has little issue with forgetting. Kid Devil would be imbued with demonic powers by Neron, using his newfound powers as a member of the Teen Titans. Kid Devil would go on to rebrand himself as Red Devil and would become an integral part of the Titans during his tenure. Devil would perish saving a city from a human bomb, and has yet to make an appearance since the introduction of DC Rebirth. This cult favorite character has his fair share of fans, but DC has shown little interest in reviving the hero. Since debuting in , the Teen Titans have seen plenty of members fail to make an impact and subsequently slip into obscurity. After all, not every new Titans member is lucky enough to be as popular as or Robin. He wears a plain metal helmet without any sort of visor or visual source, although he does appear to have a humanoid face and at least one eye, as to the helmet would reveal but still shows considerable awareness and skill in fending off intruders despite this. His wicked axe is able to generate fire along the blade, and possesses a separate blade at the other end of the handle. The guard himself seems to be able to withstand average physical damage and extreme heat, and may possibly be in an undead or immortal state. He bears the Mark of Skath on his chest, which is also present on the door he was guarding, possibly indicating some sort of subservience or relation to or his followers. While he may have had Slade beat in brute strength, a well placed bomb on the door seemed to do away with the Guard while opening the door at the same time, leaving nothing but his helmet and axe. Slade took the axe to aid the Titans in their fight against Trigon. This wiki. This wiki All wikis. Sign In Don't have an account?

After all, what kind of hero would wear a chest window? From this totally ridiculous question came Power Boy, perhaps one of the Titans' most obscure members. Hailing from Apokolips, Power Boy is essentially a gender-swapped Power Girl, featuring the same power set and rocking the same revealing chest window. A character designed as a tongue-in-cheek mockery of one of DC's bigger characters, that contributed little of consequence and died a violent death on his first team mission?
