Then Gordon Garb did me a great favor by giving me his late father’s motorized mimeo equipment so File 770 could keep going. In the dawning age of computers I discov- ered how to cut stencils with a dot-matrix printer. The late Irene Danziger created File 770’s first true desktop publishing layouts in 1991 to take better advantage of the cheap photocopying Gavin Claypool clued me onto at CalTech. (It didn’t stay cheap for long. They must have worked the math.)
