Welcome to The Residences at The Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman Legends Championships. InsideOut Sports & Entertainment is pleased to present a phenomenal cast of legends to the Cayman Islands and the beautiful Residences at The Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman. Two former world No. 1s, Mats Wilander and Jim Courier, will be joined by Wimbledon champion Goran Ivanisevic, Wimbledon finalist , former World #5 Jimmy Arias, finalist Mikael Pernfors and other Champions including Olympic Silver Medalist Wayne Ferreira of South Africa and US Open semi-finalist Karel Novacek of the Czech Republic. These tennis greats will be battling in a single-elimination shootout in their quest for the title.

HREE TIMES BETWEEN 1992 AND 1998, He rode one of the world’s most overpowering serves all the way to the finals of Wimbledon, only to come up tantalizingly short of the title. Then, in 2001, Twith a suspect shoulder and ranking outside the world’s Top 100, he needed a wildcard just to walk onto the grounds at the All-England Club. He got his wildcard entry into the event and - after a thrilling five-set final victory against Patrick Rafter - he exited a Wimbledon Champion.

N THE early ‘90s he dominated the men’s professional tennis circuit with a game he fashioned out of grit, determination and a punishing inside-out forehand. He was the first in his class of American champions I- which includes Pete Sampras and Andre Agassi - to hold the No. 1 world ranking. In 2005, Jim was honored by being inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame.

CAREER HIGHLIGHTS  In 1989 he won his first ATP Tour title in singles (Basel) and doubles (Rome, with Pete Sampras) at age 19.  Courier captured his first in 1991 at the French Open, beating Andre Agassi in the first all- American final at Roland-Garros since 1954.  He achieved the World No. 1 ranking in 1992 and was named ATP Tour player of the year.  He reached the finals of all four Grand Slams winning twice at the French Open and twice at the .  Courier played on two winning U.S. Davis Cup teams (‘92 and ‘95), compiling an overall record of 17-10. E OWNS ONE OF THE FASTEST SERVES on Tour but his groundstrokes arrive with almost the same velocity. No wonder he’s been dubbed “Scud” - for the Russian-made missile of Gulf War fame. Philippoussis exploded on the pro scene in 1994 andH was named Newcomer of the Year on the ATP circuit in 1995, when he jumped from No. 307 to No. 32 in the world. He is the first player to be active on both the ATP and Champions Series circuits at the same time.

CAREER HIGHLIGHTS  In 1998, Philippousis reached his first Grand Slam final at the U.S. Open, losing to fellow Australian Patrick Rafter.  In 1999, he entered the Top 10 rankings for the first time.  Although he entered the tournament unseeded in 2003, he reached the Wimbledon final, losing to 6-7, 2-6, 6-7.  Philippoussis has been a standout member in Davis Cup for Australia, leading the team to victory in 1999 and 2003.  Philippoussis enjoyed an outstanding grass- court season in 2006, culminating in his most recent tour title at the Hall of Fame tournament in Newport, Rhode Island.  14 career titles - 11 in singles; 3 in doubles.  2007 OCS tournament highlights; 4th place, Dallas  2007 Champions Ranking: #13.  2009 Champions Ranking (as of 4/22/09): #10.

NE of the pre-eminent players from the golden era of Swedish tennis. Wilander imposed his will from the baseline with punishing groundstrokes and tactical precision. His initial success came on the red clay at Roland Garros, where he won his first Grand Slam, but he adapted his game to win on all surfaces - even Wimbledon,O where he won his only Slam title in doubles.

CAREER HIGHLIGHTS  Wilander burst onto the pro scene in 1982, winning the French Open as an unseeded 17- year-old.  He won Australian Opens back to back in 1983 and 1984.  In 1988, Mats was the most dominant player on the ATP Tour, winning three of the four Slams. Only three other male players, Rod Laver, and Roger Federer have accomplished that feat in the Open era.  In all, he won 8 Grand Slams - 7 in singles (3 French, 3 Australian, 1 U.S.) and 1 in doubles (Wimbledon).  He won the season-ending Masters Singles title twice (‘83 and ‘88).  Wilander played on 11 Davis Cup teams for Sweden, helping his country win the Cup in successive seasons from 1984 - 1987.  40 career titles: 33 in singles; 7 in doubles.  2006 Champions Ranking: #10.  2007 Champions Ranking: #17.  2008 Champions Ranking: #18.  2009 OCS Tournament highlights: 4th place, Los Cabos.  2009 Champions Ranking (as of 4/22/09): #8.

ERREIRA holds the men’s record for most consecutive Grand Slam appearances in tennis. He played in 56 consecutive Grand Slams between 1991 and 2004, surpassing the previous record of 54 held by . In 1996, he became the first South AfricanF player to finish in the Top 10 in consecutive years in the history of the ATP Rankings and was also South Africa’s top ranked player from 1990-2000.

ERNFORS is one of two players in the history of NCAA tennis to win back-to-back singles championships. The titles came in 1984 and ‘85 and in that second year he led his GeorgiaP squad to the team championship as well.

CAREER HIGHLIGHTS  Pernfors reached the finals of the 1986 French Open, eventually losing to .  He played Davis Cup for his native Sweden in 1986, ‘87 and ‘89, helping his team reach the final in 1986.  Mikael achieved his highest rank in singles - No. 10 - in 1986. His pinnacle in doubles came at No. 25 in 1994.  During the course of his career, Novacek had wins over #1 ranked players including Boris Becker, John McEnroe, Pete Sampras, Mats Wilander and Thomas Muster.  19 career titles: 13 in singles; 6 in doubles.  2008 Champions Ranking: #13.
