World Bank Loan for Guizhou Rural Development Project covers 3 cities and 11 counties in the poverty areas of Wuling Mountain and Wumeng Mountain in Guizhou province, including Zunyi Wuchuan Gelao and Miao Autonomous County (Wunchuan County in short mentioned below), Daozhen Gelao and Miao Autonomous County (Daozhen County in short mentioned below), Zhen’an County; Bijie Nayong County, Hezhang County, Weining Yi and Hui Autonomous County (Weining County in short mentioned below); Tongren Dejiang County, Yanhe Tujia Autonomous County(Yanhe County in short mentioned below), Sinan County, Yinjiang Tujia and Miao Autonomous County(Yinjiang County in short mentioned below) and Shiqian County. See distribution of the project-covered areas in attached figure 1.1-1 and 1.1-2. Guizhou province is located in southwest of China and the western part of it forms part of the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau. It is a mountainous area with an average altitude of 1100m. Guizhou province covers a total area of 176,200 sq km among which mountains and hills account for 92.5%. The area of Karst landscape (outcrop) of Guizhou is up to 61.9%,

    Journal of Palaeogeography 2014, 3(4): 384-409 DOI: 10.3724/SP.J.1261.2014.00063 Lithofacies palaeogeography and sedimentology Lithofacies palaeogeography of the Late Permian Wujiaping Age in the Middle and Upper Yangtze Region, China Jin-Xiong Luo*, You-Bin He, Rui Wang School of Geosciences, Yangtze University, Wuhan 430100, China Abstract The lithofacies palaeogeography of the Late Permian Wujiaping Age in Middle and Upper Yangtze Region was studied based on petrography and the “single factor analysis and multifactor comprehensive mapping” method. The Upper Permian Wujiaping Stage in the Middle and Upper Yangtze Region is mainly composed of carbonate rocks and clastic rocks, with lesser amounts of siliceous rocks, pyroclastic rocks, volcanic rocks and coal. The rocks can be divided into three types, including clastic rock, clastic rock-limestone and lime- stone-siliceous rock, and four fundamental ecological types and four fossil assemblages are recognized in the Wujiaping Stage. Based on a petrological and palaeoecological study, six single factors were selected, namely, thickness (m), content (%) of marine rocks, content (%) of shallow water carbonate rocks, content (%) of biograins with limemud, content (%) of thin- bedded siliceous rocks and content (%) of deep water sedimentary rocks. Six single factors maps of the Wujiaping Stage and one lithofacies palaeogeography map of the Wujiaping Age were composed. Palaeogeographic units from west to east include an eroded area, an alluvial plain, a clastic rock platform, a carbonate rock platform where biocrowds developed, a slope and a basin. In addition, a clastic rock platform exists in the southeast of the study area. Hydro- carbon source rock and reservoir conditions were preliminarily analyzed based on lithofacies palaeogeography.

    Country Report for the Preparation of the First Report on the State of the World’s Animal Genetic Resources Report on Domestic Animal Genetic Resources in China June 2003 Beijing CONTENTS Executive Summary Biological diversity is the basis for the existence and development of human society and has aroused the increasing great attention of international society. In June 1992, more than 150 countries including China had jointly signed the "Pact of Biological Diversity". Domestic animal genetic resources are an important component of biological diversity, precious resources formed through long-term evolution, and also the closest and most direct part of relation with human beings. Therefore, in order to realize a sustainable, stable and high-efficient animal production, it is of great significance to meet even higher demand for animal and poultry product varieties and quality by human society, strengthen conservation, and effective, rational and sustainable utilization of animal and poultry genetic resources. The "Report on Domestic Animal Genetic Resources in China" (hereinafter referred to as the "Report") was compiled in accordance with the requirements of the "World Status of Animal Genetic Resource " compiled by the FAO. The Ministry of Agriculture" (MOA) has attached great importance to the compilation of the Report, organized nearly 20 experts from administrative, technical extension, research institutes and universities to participate in the compilation team. In 1999, the first meeting of the compilation staff members had been held in the National Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Service, discussed on the compilation outline and division of labor in the Report compilation, and smoothly fulfilled the tasks to each of the compilers.

    People's Republic of China FY2017 Ex-Post Evaluation of Japanese ODA Loan Project “Guizhou Province Environment Improvement and Education Project” External Evaluators: Toshihiro Nishino/Ayako Nomoto, International Development Center of Japan Inc. 0. Summary The project aimed to improve environment and hygiene, and to develop human resources in local farming villages and suburban cities in 12 national poverty-stricken counties in Guizhou Province by constructing or improving facilities for (i) environmental measures such as methane gas facilities, waste and disposal facilities, and reforestation; (ii) hygiene measures such as roads for daily use, water supply, and medical services; and (iii) senior high school buildings. The project has been consistent with China’s development plans and development needs as well as with Japan’s ODA policy. Therefore, the relevance of the project is high. Although the project cost was within the plan, the project period significantly exceeded it. Therefore, the efficiency of the project is low. The effectiveness/impact is high. Indicators set to measure quantitative effects such as culling of forests, flooded area, volume of soil erosion, percentage of population served water, number of patients, volume and percentage of waste disposed, and senior high school enrollment rate have largely achieved targets or improved. As to qualitative effects, improvements in the environment (including living environment) such as the decrease in the collection of firewood and charcoal, improvement of medical services, improvement of hygiene as well as effects of education have been observed. As for impacts, a decrease in the population of rural poverty, regional economic development, sustainable environmental and social development, and a reduction in the women’s household workload have been observed.

It is the only major tributary of the Upper Yangtze that remains free-flowing without a mainstream dam. The Chishui River Basin (CRB) is an important storehouse of biodiversity, lying within the Upper Yangtze Freshwater Ecoregion and the Guizhou Plateau Broadleaf and Mixed Forests Terrestrial Ecoregion. The basin also lies on the eastern margin of the Mountains of Southwest China biodiversity hotspot, and contains part of the China Danxia World Heritage Site.

Limited We refer to your letter dated 24 April 2017 in which you have sought a response from the Company in relation to questions raised by the ASX regarding judgements made involving the Company’s subsidiary (“PRC DSX”) in the People’s Republic of China. In response to ASX’s queries, the Company advises as follows: 1. It is a natural consequence of the nature of PRC DSX business, being guaranteeing the repayment of loans and other specific performances, that it will be involved in legal processes. Where lenders seek recovery of loans following any default of the performance of borrowers, and that borrower is a client of PRC DSX and their repayment obligations are guaranteed by PRC DSX, PRC DSX will be named in the relevant legal processes. Accordingly, PRC DSX has been and is likely to continue to be a party to legal processes and by extension to have judgements made against it in its capacity as guarantor. PRC DSX processes are such that if a client defaults and a judgement is made against that client, and by extension PRC DSX, PRC DSX then seeks to renegotiate the terms of the obligation on behalf of the client. If that process is successful the judgement is no longer relevant and is withdrawn, however if that process is not successful PRC DSX makes the payments on behalf of the client and proceeds to seek recovery from the client.
