CLYDE MUSE • PRESIDENT DEAR VISITORS: On behalf of the Board of Trustees and the entire Hinds family, I am pleased to welcome you to Hinds Community College, where you will find a quality education with a personal and friendly approach at a reasonable cost. The focus of our college is on the student, and we make every effort to provide programs and services that enable students to be successful. We are extremely pleased with the graduation/completion rate of our student-athletes. Among those working hard for the betterment of the college are members of the coaching staff who have gone out of their way to prepare their team for this athletic event. We are particularly pleased to have parents, students and alumni here. We thank you for your support of our educational endeavors. We hope you enjoy the game and continue to take an interest in the activities at Hinds. The college’s athletic program is just one extension of the comprehensive academic, career and technical instruction offered at Hinds. Athletics complement a strong instructional base that provides educational opportunities of the highest caliber at the college’s six locations. With the college serving the local communities since 1917, we look eagerly toward many more years of providing a wide variety of educational and cultural opportunities as we continue to motivate students with a learning environment that’s close to home, affordable and friendly. To our visiting coaches, players and college representatives, we extend a warm welcome. We hope you enjoy your visit at Hinds as well as the athletic competition that adds excitement and challenge to the students’ educational experience. GENE MURPHY • ATHLETIC DIRECTOR On behalf of the Hinds Community College athletic department, I want to welcome you to our college. Hinds is the largest community college in the state, and we also have the largest sports program of any community college. Our teams compete year in and year out for state and regional titles, and our coaching staff brings a wide variety of success in every single sport. Hinds continues to dominate in the area of academic achievement among athletes. Since 1987, we have received the David Halbrook Award 13 times. This award is given to the community/junior college with the highest percentage of graduates or completers in its athletic program. It is my hope that you enjoy watching our teams and continue to support Hinds athletics throughout the year. 2 HINDSCCSPORTS.COM 3 HINDSCCSPORTS.COM 2014 EAGLES 2010 & 2012 MACJC State Champions Nathan Aultman 2012 MACJC All-State Signed with Northwestern WELCOME State University Carey Taylor Nick Schneeberger 2012 MACJC All-State 2009 & 2010 MACJC All-State Signed with University of 2010 NJCAA All-Region Louisiana-Monroe Signed with Tulane University Travious Relaford Signed with San Francisco Giants in 2011 Beau Wallace 2012 NJCAA All-American 2013 MACJC All-State Alex Gunn Signed with Pittsburgh 2011 & 2012 MACJC All-STate Pirates in 2013 Signed with University of Memphis Tyler Akins 2011 MACJC All-State 2012 NJCAA All-American Signed with Belhaven University 2 HINDSCCSPORTS.COM 3 HINDSCCSPORTS.COM 2014 EAGLES 2010 & 2012 MACJC State Champions PLAYERS 2014 Schools (MAIS) AAA state championship… Ahlrich #33 Played in the MAIS All-Star game after Boggs #19 his senior season… Selected to the 2012 m All-Metro team by The Clarion-Ledger… l l a Two-time All-State Honorable Mention a h • FRESHMAN selection…Two-time Rifle and Clay Shoot • FRESHMAN h a • IF/RHP winner at MRA and also competed with • INF s r • R/R the Chicago Fire A+ Soccer team • R/R • 6’4 r G Personal: Graduate of MRA in 2012… • 6’0 • 215 a Resides in Madison… Son of Casey Medlin • 210 and the late Craig Ainsworth… Real estate M major High school: Played for Brian Rea and High school: Played at Cleveland High Gregg Perry at Madison Central High School for Steve Wies… Versatile standout School… Two-sport athlete who excelled in who competed in baseball, basketball and Bell #2 both baseball and soccer… Was selected to football for the Wildcats… Four-time All- the All-District team as a senior in baseball… y Area and All-Region selection in baseball Competed in the Junior Sunbelt Classic d and was selected to the 4A All-State
