Notes related to qualification & consideration times

The qualification times are times that would have won a medal at the 2013 Island Games. The consideration times for 2015 have been adjusted to create a balanced set of times based on 2013 results and the 2013 consideration times.

These times are the standards required for success at the Island Games.

The times listed are short course meters. Converted times will be accepted.

The standards set a real challenge for Isle of Man swimmers; you have until April 2015 to commit to attaining them. Set yourself stepping stone goals, do not leave it to the last minute and hope to make a big step.

Swimmers should be aware of the need to show evidence of the following.

Swimmers must demonstrate commitment to training and competition displaying the correct attitude.

The IOMSA, numbers allowing, to have the option of considering potential young talented swimmers for 2015.

Team swims to be selected if the swimmers cumulative times are inside the consideration times for the event. This may include swimmers who do not have individual event consideration times.

Swimmers will be expected to convince selectors of their ability to produce a time BETTER than the published consideration times.
