AMERICAN SNIPER – To pull the trigger or not? Bradley Cooper’s transformative performance and the tension-ratcheting battle scenes pulled you into the mind-set of the deadliest sniper in American history, Chris Kyle - and what happened to him after Iraq will keep haunting you.

BIRDMAN – This drama plays out in real time, as Riggan (Michael Keaton), a once-famous movie star, launches a comeback. The hitch: Riggan’s costar (Edward Norton) doesn’t respect him, his assistant-daughter (Emma Stone) loathes him, and he routinely hallucinates arguments with his alter ego.

BOYHOOD – It started with a simple, brilliantly ambitious plan: Film a coming-of-age story in real time, as its lead actor aged from 7 to 18. The resulting story about this boy’s journey is sensitive and engrossing. But the real achievement is the way it made you think about your own life and how fleeting it can be.

SELMA – Martin Luther King Jr. and the landmark 1965 voting-rights march from Selma to Montgomery,

Alabama. The marchers succeeded in their peaceful advance only on the

third attempt, and each time it hits us: We’re watching one of the most important quests in American history. & NIGHT AwardsCOCKTAILS & SNACKS FOR THE PERFECT PARTY!
