ARRESTS 1400 Block Cottage St., S.W. Oct. 12, 7:28 p.m. MPO Burchfield responded for a hit and run crash on Oct. 12. One car was stopped in a traffic lane and a second vehicle struck it in the rear then fled the scene. MPO Burchfield investigated the crash and identified the striking driver and vehicle involved in the hit and run. On Oct. 27 MPO Burchfield secured a warrant of arrest for the striking driver and summoned her to Vienna Police Headquarters. Upon her arrival the 50-year-old female of Lawyers Road in Vienna was arrested for Hit and Run. She was then transported to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center and released on an unsecured bond of $1000 and her personal recognizance. She was also issued a summons for Improper Lane Change. She was released after signing the summons. Neighbor’s Restaurant, 262 Cedar Lane, S.E. Oct. 23, 11:32 p.m. An employee of Neighbor’s Restaurant advised that an individual with which he had been arguing was refusing to leave the restaurant. Officer Finelli located the individual and after a brief investigation arrested a 23-year- old male of Cedar Lane in Vienna for Drunk in Public. He was then transported to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center. 200 block of Fardale St., S.E. On Sunday Oct. 25 at approximately 2 a.m. officers from the Town of Vienna Police Department along with members of Fairfax County EMS responded to the 200 block of Fardale Street, S.E. in Vienna for a medical distress call. Upon arrival officers found a 68 year old female victim and her 37 year old son inside the home. On scene investigation revealed that the son had choked his mother in an apparent attempt to end her life. Fairfax County EMS transported the mother to an area hospital for treatment of her life- threatening injuries. The son, a 37- year-old male of Fardale St. was arrested and transported to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center. There he was formally charged with Attempted Murder and is being held without bond.

BURGLARY CVS Pharmacy, 264 Cedar Lane, S.E. Oct. 27, 1:38 a.m. Officer Myers responded to the CVS store for a commercial alarm which was sounding. Upon his arrival he discovered an open door. An interior search of the store was conducted but no suspects were located. Further investigation revealed that the door had been pried open. Additionally it was discovered that the pharmacy area had been entered and that an unknown quantity of medication was taken. Forensic evidence was recovered at the scene and a store employee responded to take custody of the premises. This case is still being investigated.
