Biology, ecology and behavior of plant- feeding mites Biocontrol using macrobials Biocontrol using microbials Effects of environmental conditions on predatory mites Plant-pest-natural enemy interactions Invited talks & Student Prize

Phytoseiids of Greece and Cyprus George Papadoulis Should we invest more time investigating the Ascidae as biological control agents? Gilberto José de Moraes Learning by predatory mites in foraging contexts: implications for biological control Peter Schausberger Perception of danger and behavioral response under UV in Neoseiulus californicus Masahiro Osakabe Unseen links in weed biocontrol using gall mites: fungi, fungivores and predators Zhi-Qiang Zhang Implications of alternating temperature regimes for the biological control of T. urticae, Dominiek Vangansbeke Ascid complex-take home message Most ABAs are phytoseiids, but predators could also be found in other families, such as the Ascidae, and Melicharidae. The majority of manuscripts on these families are strictly taxonomic or lab studies. Compared to Phytoseiidae we can say that the available information on these families are decades behind.

Gilberto José de Moraes Post meeting activity Course supported by The Israel Initiative Taxonomy of Soil dwelling acarine predators Objective - Identify potential BCAs of nematodes and soil borne pests. Prostigmata-Anystidae, Bdellidae, Cunaxidae, Eupalopsellidae and Stigmaeidae. -Ascidae, Blattisociidae, Melicharidae, Macrochelidae, Parasitidae and Laelapidae. Deliverable: Key to species of major families in Israel Interested -> Israel February 9-13th, 2013. Next• Castelló meeting de la willPlana take place in Castelló de la Plana, Spain, 2015

Castelló is the capital of the province of the same name, a quiet, accessible Mediterranean city of nearly 200,000. Castelló de la Plana

The province of Castelló is a blend of landscapes. Along the coast, a combination of orange orchards and beautiful beaches. Inland it is the second most mountainous province in Spain with a rich historical landscape. Local Organizer – Josep Jacas
