GETTING Go See Do Tuvan Throat Singers OUT Think you’ve seen and heard it all? Think again, my friend. On Saturday, February 13, “Huun Huur Tu,” a band of Tuvan Throat Singers, will perform YOUR SEVEN-DAY EVENT PLANNER at the San Juan Capistrano Branch (31495 El Camino Real) of the Orange County Public Library. The group of men will perform this unique form of singing from the tiny region of Tuva located 2,500 miles east of Moscow on the Siberian border. The group performs “overtone” singing in which throat singers add vocal layers in order to have three sounds coming from one human at the same time and combine that with the use of traditional musical instruments. “I can’t think of a better way to celebrate this Valentine’s weekend then to come down to the La Sala Auditorium and see this extraordinary act,” said Teri Garza, head librarian. The group performed here four years ago, and have performed on national TV shows such DP as the “Today” show and have been featured in Time magazine. Dana Point There are two shows scheduled: one at 6:30 p.m.and another at 8:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 at the door, just $5 for kids under 12.
