After Laughter MERCOLEDì 26 APRILE 2017 I Paramore annunciano la pubblicazione dell'attesissimo quinto album in studio dal titolo "After Laughter" il 12 maggio per la Fueled By Ramen. "After Laughter" è il primo disco in quattro anni per la band vincitrice di Paramore: il 12 maggio esce il un GRAMMY Award ed è disponibile in pre-order. Ordinando l'album in nuovo album "After Laughter" versione digitale si riceverà in instant grat download il nuovo singolo "Hard Times" che è stato presentato con un inedito e vivacissimo video diretto da Andrew Joffe. Theories on gender, masculinity and femininity will be used to analyze both the lyrics and the music videos of these two bands, indicating how they perform gender lyrically and visually. Likewise a short introduction on emo music will be given, to gain a better understanding of the genre and the subculture. It will become clear that the emo subculture allows for men and women to explore their own identity. This is reflected in the music associated to the emo genre as well as their visual representation in their music videos. The data for the research were taken from 11 songs in the album After Laughter. The data were analyzed using Lakoff and Johnson’s (1980) theory of conceptual metaphor. From the 11 songs, 47 data were identified containing conceptual metaphors. Overall, the data mostly consist of orientational metaphors. There were 37 data containing orientational metaphors, which are used by the songwriters to convey to their listeners that they had experienced ups and downs in their lives. Eight structural metaphors were used to deliver the message that life is full of challenges and struggle. However, it also conveys a lesson of the most genuine forgiveness. Only 2 data containing ontological metaphors were found. The conceptual metaphors depict the devastation in their lives, as it is tangible through human imagination and has human characteristics. By using conceptual metaphors in the song lyrics, the songwriters enable the listeners to acknowledge the message, as well as the story that they meant to convey. In orientation it contrasts markedly with previous studies and is the first study to have been based on such a large volume of data. In this paper I have focused on laughter as it serves to maintain a co-operative relationship between the participants in a conversation. I find that in the process of communication, people necessarily have to lay themselves open to others, and in doing so they become conscious of the barrier surrounding and protecting their field, i.e. their ‘inner world’. I hypothesise that in Japanese at least it is consciousness of this barrier that causes the occurrence of laughter in discourse. In other words, people laugh as part of the process of opening up to others, and also to show their intention to be co-operative.

The first day, everyone ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ dressed up in pajamas and started the week off great! The day consisted of ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ “Can Jam” during lunch, with representatives from each grade competing ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ against one another. ​ ​ ​ ​ Other lunchtime activities through the week were hula hooping and ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ apple bobbing. Wednesday was U.S.A. day, so students and faculty dressed in ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ red, white, and blue to represent their country. ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ The following day, Thursday, was the day that students showed pride ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ for their grade. Wolf Alice’s 2015 gold-certified debut album My Love Is Cool hit No 2 in the UK charts in June of that year, and No 12 on the Billboard alternative albums chart in the US: that’s the sort of success most young guitar bands wait years to achieve. Wolf Alice were nominated for the Mercury prize, Ivor Novello Award, a Brit and Grammy, and took an NME Award for Best Live Band. They crisscrossed the UK, the US, Australia, Japan and Europe on the mother of all two-year tours. Their song Silk appeared on T2 Trainspotting, sequel to a film (and a soundtrack) that defined the 90s. They were picked by 24 Hour Party People and 9 Songs director Michael Winterbottom to be the musical heart of his fictionalised documentary On the Road. It’s been a wild time. But for Ellie, the maddest memory is a small moment. “In the van, on our way back from Glastonbury. We were all eating ice-creams and we were in the charts. And that in itself was so strange. After her most recent suicide attempt and a course of electro- convulsive therapy, Mrs. A recovered sufficiently to begin a spiritu- al journey that led her to practice a technique known as Laughter Yoga (Box) and, eventually, to become a Laughter Yoga instructor.
