Approximate Driving Times: Ottawa, Canada: 1.5 hours Syracuse, NY: 3.0 hours Plattsburg, NY: 2.0 hours Burlington, VT: 3.0 hours Montreal, Canada: 2.5 hours Albany, NY: 4.0 hours Through Albany Take Interstate 87 north of Albany to exit 23 (Warrensburg). Take Route 9 north about three miles to intersection with Route 28. Follow Route 28 to Indian Lake. Take Route 30 north to Tupper Lake. Pick up Route 3 west. Route 3 intersects with Route 56 north, which goes into Potsdam. Turn left onto Route 11 south in Potsdam. After crossing the river, campus is the first left after the traffic light. Through Syracuse Take Interstate 81 north to exit 48 (Route 342) north of Watertown. Route 342 east intersects with U.S. Route 11. Follow U.S. Route 11 north to Potsdam. Immediately after entering Village of Potsdam, take second Clarkson entrance on right. Through Montreal, Quebec, Canada Take Autoroute Ville-Marie, which becomes Autoroute 20 O when crossing into Ontario, and then transitions to Provincial Route 401 W. Take HWY-138/Av. Brookdale/ Brookdale Ave. exit 789 toward Cornwall/Ottawa. Turn left onto Brookdale Ave/Provincial Route 138 S. Enter the roundabout and take the 2nd exit onto Provincial Route 138 S. This crosses into the U.S. across the Seaway International Bridge. Take Route 37 to Route 56 S. Follow Route 56 to Potsdam. Turn right onto Route 11 south in Potsdam. After crossing river, campus is first left after traffic light. Through Ottawa, Ontario, Canada Take Highway-417 W/Trans Canada HWY W approximately 8 miles. Take HWY-416 S exit on the left toward HWY- 401 and merge onto Provincial Route 416 S. Travel for approximately 44 miles, then take HWY-16 S exit 1 toward HWY-401. Merge with Provincial route 16 and turn slightly to the right onto the Ogdensburg-Prescott International Bridge. Take Route 37 to Route 68 east. In Canton, pick up Route 11 north to Potsdam. Immediately after entering Village of Potsdam, take second Clarkson entrance on right. Traveling by Air: Cape Air Cape air has flights from Albany, NY to Ogdensburg, NY and Massena, NY. With three other universities nearby, Clarkson community members enjoy a constantly changing social and intellectual quality of life largely influenced by our proximity to the north slope of the Adirondacks; easy drives to Lake Placid as well as Ottawa and Montreal, Canada; and a high level of regional camaraderie to encourage innovative partnerships in small business development, arts, tourism, recreation, agriculture and green energy.
