Loft History
KEITH & BETTY MOTT OF CLAYGATE The story of a life time in the sport of Pigeon Racing Introduction I was born in Feltham, near Heathrow Airport in October 1950. I first met my wife, Betty, in late 1969 and this was through my friendship with her brother, Alfie, who raced pigeons and was a keen on ‘The Impalas’, the band I played drums in. Alfie North was a regular visitor to the bands Sunday night gig at the Swam PH in Kingston and with our mutual interest in pigeons and Rock music, we used to talk ‘shop’ during my mid- session break. From time to time he would bring his sister, Betty, to the ‘Swan’ gig and in the end it was mostly her and me talk about her main interest of those days, Speedway racing. I had known this wonderful girl named, Betty North, for a few months in early 1971 and I asked her out for our first date while at the big Gene Vincent gig at the Kingston Coronation Hall, when we were playing on the same bill. I knew she was there that night and I went out in to audience to find her. My life started on that night in 1971 and we got married in May 1972. We had two wonderful kids in Caroline and Mark, and in turn they have given us five brilliant grand children in Sasha, Katie, Ryan, Sophia and Connie. We are now great grandparents, with our Mason being born in August 2018! When we married in 1972 she said that it might only last about two years because of my ‘Rock ‘n Roll’ life style and all that entailed, but here we are 50 years later and still madly in love and still happily married! Then came the pigeons! At that time I thought to myself, well she is from a pigeon racing family, with her late father, Alf North senior, and her brother racing in partnership in the Surbiton FC for many years, so she knew what she was committing to by marring a pigeon fancier. -

Ben Keith, Neil Young's Ste
Ben Keith, Neil Young's steel guitarist: 1937-2010 | Pop & Hiss | Los Angeles Times July 27, 2010 | 1:25 pm Ben Keith, the veteran steel guitarist who played on Patsy Cline’s 1961 hit “I Fall to Pieces” before befriending Neil Young and going on to play on more than a dozen of the Canadian rocker's albums, has died. He was 73. He died of a heart attack, director Jonathan Demme said Tuesday. Demme, who directed Young’s concert films “Neil Young Trunk Show” from earlier this year and 2006’s “Heart of Gold,” said Keith had been staying at Young’s ranch in Northern California, working on new projects with his longtime collaborator. Keith was featured prominently in both. In “Neil Young Trunk Show,” shot in Pennsylvania at a stop on Young’s 2007-2008 concert tour, Young said a key reason he chose to tour with Keith, bassist Rick Rosas and Crazy Horse drummer Ralph Molina, rather than convening the full, hard-rocking Crazy Horse trio, was that “I can do more variety this way, because Ben plays so many instruments.” Demme called Keith “an elegant, beautiful dude, and obviously a genius. He could play every instrument. He was literally the bandleader on any of that stuff… Neil has all the confidence in the world, but with Ben on board, there were no limits. Neil has a fair measure of the greatness of his music, but he knew he was even better when Ben was there.” Most recently, Keith had been touring with Young’s wife, Pegi, in support of her second solo album, “Foul Deeds,” for a handful of West Coast performances in June. -

New Neil Young Album: "Chrome Dreams II"
2007-09-25 18:06 CEST New Neil Young album: "Chrome Dreams II" The new album by Neil Young, "Chrome Dreams II", will be released by Reprise Records on October 17th. Speaking from a vacation retreat with his family, Young says it’s “an album with a form based on some of my original recordings, with a large variety of songs, rather than one specific type of song.” It comes at a creative peak for the artist, following the Greendale, Prairie Wind, and Living With War albums, and a summer 2006 tour by Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young that concert audiences are still talking about. In many ways, Chrome Dreams II is the ultimate example of what Young does best: most of the songs were written recently and came quickly, and the “live” recording sessions in northern California were over before they were announced. The album includes all kinds of music, and taken together, offers a complete picture of where Neil Young is today. “Where Living With War and Everybody’s Rockin’ were albums focused on one subject or style,” Young says, “Chrome Dreams II is more like After The Goldrush or Freedom, with different types of songs working together to form a feeling. Now that radio formats are not as influential as they once were, it’s easier to release an album that crosses all formats with a message that runs through the whole thing, regardless of the type of song or sound.” On the sessions for the album, Neil Young was joined by Crazy Horse drummer Ralph Molina, pedal steel guitarist and dobro player Ben Keith (Harvest, Comes A Time, Harvest Moon) and bassist Rick Rosas (Freedom, Living With War, This Note’s For You). -

Blackmore´S Night: Die Weiße Nacht Eines Gereiften Wild Boys
Antwort: Ritchie Blackmore, "the one and only".
