What is the Church’s message for those who are homeless? What is the concrete meaning of Christian solidarity for them? Two things come to mind. Popular movements work toward the three Span- ish ‘t’s’:trabajo [work], techo [roof] and tierra [land]. The Church teaches that ev- ery person has the right to these three t’s.

VENDOR MEMORIAL: ROBERTA BEAR By Marcus Green, Vendor/Artist

Dear Bobby Bear,

Farewell.

I miss you so much. God has called you home. I can’t go back, only forward to make you and God proud.

Taking you and God for granted came back to haunt me. But, there is a blessing in all of this: Bobby’s work on Earth is done, and I must take over.

Please lift me and her family in prayer. I do know prayer changes things. Thanks for your support.

God Bless, Marcus

The Street Sense family grieves for the loss of Roberta “Bobby” Bear. She was a strong woman, prolific writer and gentle soul. Bobby passed away in her sleep, at the age of 58, on Tuesday, November 24. Family services were held on December 6.

Street Sense will hold a memorial at the Church of the Epiphany in early January 2016. All are welcome. She will also be honored during this year’s Homeless Persons’ Memorial Day, observed on December 17 and 18 in the District. Donations may be made in her honor to House of Ruth (HouseOfRuth.org). Reflections and tributes may be sent to [email protected].
