The contents of this report do not necessarily reflect the official views or policy of the U.S. Department of Transportation.” LOG OF NEBRASKA HIGHWAYS GENERAL INFORMATION THE ROADWAY GEOMETRICS SHOWN IN THIS LOG MAY DIFFER FROM THE ACTUAL ROADWAY DUE TO CONSTRUCTION IN PROGRESS. INCLUDED IN THIS LOG ARE ALL STATE MARKED AND/OR MAINTAINED HIGHWAYS, SPURS AND CONNECTING LINKS. THE GENERAL DIRECTION OF THE LOG FOR NUMBERED HIGHWAYS IS FROM WEST TO EAST, OR FROM SOUTH TO NORTH WHEREVER IT IS PRACTICABLE, SPURS AND CONNECTING LINKS ARE LOGGED FROM THE NUMBERED HIGHWAY SERVED, WITHOUT REGARD TO DIRECTION. A LOG OF CONNECTING LINKS AND SPURS FOLLOWS THE LOG OF NUMBERED HIGHWAYS, LISTING IN ALPHABETICAL AND NUMERICAL SEQUENCE BY COUNTIES IN WHICH THEY ARE LOCATED. ALL STRUCTURES HAVING MORE THAN TWENTY FEET CLEAR OPENING HAVE BEEN REFERENCE POSTED TO THE ORIGINAL HIGHWAY ON WHICH THEY WERE LOGGED. OVERLAPPING SEGMENTS OF DUPLICATE HIGHWAYS CARRY REFERENCE POSTS ASSIGNED TO THE ORGINAL ROUTE IN ALL CASES. U.S. DOT-AAR CROSSING NUMBERS FOLLOW RAILROAD NAMES FOR AT GRADE CROSSINGS. DEFINITIONS “SPUR” IS A SECTION OF STATE MARKED AND/OR MAINTAINED ROAD WHICH SERVES AS A “CONNECTOR” FROM A NUMBERED HIGHWAY TO A MAJOR POINT OF INTEREST. IN THE CASE OF SPURS THE NAME OF A CITY OR VILLAGE, AN INSTITUTION OR SOME OTHER POINT OF INTEREST IS INCLUDED IN THE TITLE TO AID IN IDENTIFYING THE SPUR. “CONNECTING LINK” IS A SECTION OF STATE MARKED AND/OR MAINTAINED ROAD WHICH FORMS A DISTANCE-SAVING CONNECTION BETWEEN NUMBERED HIGHWAYS. “ROAD” IS USED TO DENOTE THE INTERSECTION OF A LOCAL “FEEDER” ROAD WITH A NUMBERED HIGHWAY. THESE ROADS ARE NOT STATE MAINTAINED. THE WORD “ROAD” IS ALWAYS PRECEDED BY AN IDENTIFYING DESIGNATION. “P.C.” DENOTES A JUNCTION POINT OF A NUMBERED HIGHWAY WITH A RAMP. “JC.” DENOTES AN INTERSECTION OF TWO OR MORE NUMBERED HIGHWAYS. WHEN “JC.” IS PRECEDED BY A DIRECTIONAL PREFIX IT DENOTES THE BEGINNING OR ENDING OF AN OVERLAPPING SECTION OF A NUMBERED HIGHWAY WITH THE HIGHWAY BEING LOGGED. “WITH” IS USED BETWEEN THE NUMBERS OF TWO HIGHWAYS FORMING A JUNCTION. “&” IS USED BETWEEN THE NUMBER OF OVERLAPPING HIGHWAYS WHEN THEY FORM A JUNCTION WITH ONE OR MORE OTHER HIGHWAYS.
