NATIONAL CADET CORPS LITTLE FLOWER COLLEGE GURUVAYOOR 7(K) GIRLS BN NCC THRISSUR ANNUAL REPORT 2019-2020 ACTIVITIES • ENVIRONMENT DAY World environment day was observed on 05/06/2019. A flash mob was done to spread awareness of tree plantation and tree saplings are planted by our principal Dr. Sr. Philojees on that day. • YOGA DAY The NCC unit ceremoniously observed the international yoga day on 21st June 2019. Messages on the importance of yoga practise were delivered and yoga exercises were done by the cadets. The theme of yoga day 2019 being climate action, a tree was planted in the campus by the PI Staff N K Ramesh from battalion to represent action against climate change. • ANTI-NARCOTICS DAY In connection with international day against drug abuse, a rally was held with pluck cards having messages of anti effects of drug use on 26th June 2019. An awareness class was arranged for the students by the cadets. A poster making competition was conducted among the students. • EKM GROUP COMMANDER VISIT The group commander of NCC Ernakulam directorate visited NCC UNIT of LITTLE FLOWER COLLEGE, GURUVAYUR on 04/07/2019. Sir was welcomed with Guard of Honour and the activities of unit were appreciated by him. • MEGA POLLUTION AWARENESS PAKWATHA In connection with mega pollution awareness pakwatha, the NCC cadets of Little Flower College, Guruvayur, 7kerala Girls Battalion organised various programmes to aware about the bad effects of pollution among students and public. A drawing competition conducted in the college among the students on the theme eradication of pollution on 09/07/2019. A street play was conducted on the theme regarding ill effects of pollution on 10/07/2019 which was witnessed by cadets and the public. • ENROLLMENT OF FIRST YEAR CADETS Enrolment of fresh cadets for the academic year 2019- 2020 was held on 2019 July 15. An orientation talk was given by MAJOR Sheela Mathews, Administrative officer, 7kerala Girls Battalion, Thrissur. 40 cadets were newly enrolled to NCC • KARGIL VIJAY DIVAS Kargil vijay divas was observed on 26th July 2019. As a tribute to the martyrs, we pay homage at Amar Jawan Jyothi by using flowers and lighting candles. A flash mob was conducted with the theme of national integrity. • FLOOD RELIEF ACTIVITIES The NCC Unit of Little Flower College visited two flood relief camps near Guruvayur. One at Wisdom College, Pavaratty and other at Appumaster memorial high school, Brahmakulam on 12/08/2019. We mingled with them, learned about their houses, played games with little ones, helped in the distribution of food and water for the camp members, cleaned the camp premises etc. The staff and students of our college contributed essentials for the relief camps of Nilambur and the NCC cadets actively participated in the collection and packing of materials. The NCC cadets collected about 90kg of rice, sugar, pulses on 19/08/2019 and handed over to the Battalion for distributing to Malappuram region. • INDEPENDENCE DAY Flag hoisted by principal Dr.Sr. Philo jees. NCC cadets participated in the Independence day celebrations and possession conducted by chavakkad municipality. • COMBINED ANNUAL TRAINING CAMP 60 cadets attended the annual training programme held at Carmel College, Mala from 07/09/2019 to 16/09/2019. Camp senior was SUO Ann Neeha Benny of Little Flower College, Guruvayoor. • E- WASTE COLLECTION As a part of swachatha ki seva programme, our cadets collected E wastes from nearby houses on 29th September 2019. • SAMBOORNA SAKSHARATHA RALLY A rally was conducted on 16th November 2019 about Samboorna saksharatha by Chavakkad munciplaity. • SWACHATHA KI PAKWATHA On December 3rd 2019, new Commanding Officer, 7kerala Girls Battalion, thrissur Col. Joseph Antony visited Little Flower College, Guruvayur. Three more officials from Battalion accompanied Joseph sir. They had met our Principal and visited our college office and NCC office. Our NCC cadets took oath of cleanliness along with college Principal, NCC caretaker Mini miss and officials from Battalion. We gave our token of love for their valuable sharing with the creative thought of cadets about reusing of plastic bottles. On 6th December 2019 cadets of Little Flower College, Guruvayur had conducted an awareness class about cleanliness to the students of different classes in our college. NCC Cadets of Little Flower College, lead a rally to KSRTC Bus stand Guruvayur to spread awareness to the public about cleanliness along with pluck cards and cleaned the premises of the bus stand. Our NCC cadets cleaned the statue of Mahatma Gandhi in our college campus as a token of respect and responsibility. On 7th December 2019, a flash mob was conducted by the cadets in accordance with swachatha ki pakwatha. Our NCC cadets conducted handwash day on 9th December 2019, related to swachatha pakwatha. • B & C EXAM TRAINING NCC Unit of Little Flower College Guruvayur hosted B & C Certificate exam training class conducted by 7kerala Girls Battalion NCC Thrissur on 13th January 2020. Also the cadets of Mar Dionysius College, Pazhanji were attended this training. • ROAD SAFETY On 13th January 2020, GCI MANJU M M inaugurated the ROAD SAFETY WEEK in Little Flower College Guruvayur. Cadet NIHA ROSE delivered a speech about the same. Cadets conducted a pluck card rally inside the campus. On 14th January 2020, cadets of Little Flower College had conducted a motor vehicle rally to Mammiyoor junction to make aware the public about traffic rules. Police officer from Guruvayur police station flag off the rally. Our cadets gave flower and card to the public those who didn’t obey the traffic rules, as a warning. Miss Laly Thomas, Head of chemistry department gave an awaremes class about the same. On 17th January 2020, our cadets conducted an awareness for the students in L.F.C.G.H.S.School mammiyoor ACHIEVEMENTS • CQMS Anitta Antony V had attended National Trecking Camp which were held at Neelagiri, Ooty from 28/04/2019 to 04/05/2019. • JUO Sandhra George had participated TSC Pre-IGC I at St. Pauls College Kalamassery from 26/04/2019 to 05/05/2019 and also attended EK BHARATH SHRESHT BHARATH Camp at Mar Dionysius College Pazhanji from 21/12/2019 to 01/01/2020. • Cadet Alga Nelson, Cadet Devikrishna R Nair, Cadet Hridhya Nath C V, Cadet Reshma Kanjully Murali had participated Pre IGC/RDC I at Don Bosco Higher Secondary School Mannuthy from 06/05/2019 to 15/05/2019. • On July 12th 2019, SUO Ann Neeha Benny had received DG NCC Appreciation Award from DG NCC Lt. Gen Rajeev Chopra for being the Best Cadet in Kerala & Lakshadweep Directorate. • Cadet Amitha Prakash attended IGC launch/RDC from 06/09/2019 to 15/09/2019. .
