Living our Faith nnual Catholic Appeal

The world changes and generations pass, but God’s wisdom is enduring, and His will guides us throughout the ages. He is the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, the God of Jacob and the God of our fathers. And in His wisdom, his grace is boundless. Though we so often fall short of His will, He understands and forgives. Through His infinite perspective, He gave His son to the world, knowing they would abandon Jesus to Pilate to be crucified. But this sacrifice was the ultimate act of forgiveness, demonstrating there is no end to His loveA and mercy.

God rewards us for trusting His guidance, both in His heavenly kingdom and in seeing the impact we can have on those on earth who need His love the most. When our brothers and sisters suffer or are in need, we follow God’s will to serve as stewards of His many gifts. And through the Annual Catholic Appeal, we give of ourselves to serve the ministries that do such vital work in His name. Jesus said in John 10:11-18 that “A good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.” And fol- lowing His example, we sacrifice of ourselves to honor God’s ultimate sacrifice.

With the help of your generous support of the Appeal, we can come together as one Church and proclaim with one voice, Thy Will Be Done. Please give today or visit aca.archstl.org to learn more about how the Appeal impacts the lives of so many.

ACA cards are now available for pick up through the parish office or after all Masses next weekend, April 24-25th.

Living our Faith Lindenwood Area Senior Ministry

Please join Lindenwood Area Senior Ministry for an important workshop this coming Tuesday...

National HealthCare Decisions Day A year ago we all began to experience a once-in-a-lifetime experience, COVID-19. It changed our lives and is still impact- ing how we define “normal”. This past year has caused each of us to worry if we would contract COVID and if we did, would we survive? Would we be put on a ventilator? Would we never see our family and loved ones again? We suddenly lost control of much of our lives. Masks, isolation, limited gatherings became our new normal.

This past year reminds us that we are not in control of our lives. Instead, we adjust and react to our lives. But this does not mean we cannot plan for our future and be prepared in many ways. National Healthcare Decision Day is one of those days that can change your life, and have you prepared for one of the next unknown, when and how we will die.

National Healthcare Decision Day is April 16th each year. It exists to inspire, educate, empower and encourage each of us to express our wishes regarding healthcare so providers and families can respect our wishes, whatever they may be. Those wishes are expressed in the form of a legal document called an Advance Directive. This document goes into effect when we can no longer speak for ourselves but provides direction for those you name to speak for you.

Join Lindenwood Senior Ministries and Carla Baum, Founder of Meaningful Life, on Tuesday, April 13th at 1pm for a Zoom presentation on Advance Care Planning and the completion of an Advance Directive. Carla will review the basic steps for preparation, completion and sharing of this key document. She also provides one-on-one services free of charge to help work through the process to completion. Contact the LASM office at 647-4591 or [email protected] to receive the Zoom link.
