The Information Wing handles policy matters of the print and press media and publicity requirements of the Government. This Wing also looks after the general administration of the Ministry. The Broadcasting Wing handles matters relating to the electronic media and the regulation of the content of private TV channels as well as the programme matters of All India Radio and Doordarshan and operation of cable television and community radio, etc. Electronic Media Monitoring Centre (EMMC), which is a subordinate office, functions under the administrative control of this Division. The Film Wing handles matters relating to the film sector. It is involved in the production and distribution of documentary films, development and promotional activities relating to the film industry including training, organization of film festivals, import and export regulations, etc.

    GOVERNMENT OF INDIA MINISTRY OF HOUSING AND URBAN AFFAIRS LOK SABHA UNSTARRED QUESTION NO. 1757 TO BE ANSWERED ON MARCH 06, 2018 SMART CITY PROJECTS No. 1757 SHRI RAJIV PRATAP RUDY: Will the Minister of HOUSING AND URBAN AFFAIRS be pleased to state: (a) whether the Government has estimated the infrastructure expenditure and maintenance expenditure of the smart city projects for the coming years and if so, the details thereof; (b) the details regarding the number and nature of projects approved in each smart city covered under Smart Cities Mission, particularly in the State of Bihar and the country in general; (c) the total investment proposed in each smart-city project and the status of implementation of the approved projects, city- wise; and (d) whether the proposed allocation is sufficient for the smart city construction work and maintenance and if not, the reaction of the Government thereto? ANSWER THE MINISTER OF STATE (INDEPENDENT CHARGE) OF THE MINISTRY OF HOUSING AND URBAN AFFAIRS (SHRI HARDEEP SINGH PURI) (a): The expenditure on infrastructure and its maintenance has been assessed by the 99 Smart Cities in their Smart City Proposals (SCPs). The Smart City Proposals (SCPs) are available on the Mission’s website (www.smartcities.gov.in). (b)& (c): Projects are approved by the Smart Cities/ State Governments. The details of nature of projects along with cost for the selected ninety nine cities are given in their Smart City Proposals (SCPs) which are available on the Mission’s website (www.smartcities.gov.in).
