Since the introduction of kerbside recycling the council will no longer empty a refuse bin that contains any cardboard, paper, plastic bottles, food tins or drink cans. So please place these in the blue bin and all other waste in the green one. At present the council does not collect glass bottles and jars for recycling but, if you wish, you can take these to the recycling centre in Dornoch Retail Park. 12 Cleaning Supplies, Spare Light Bulbs and Reusable Shopping Bags Should you need either cleaning supplies or replacement light bulbs, you will find them in the first-floor cupboard at the bottom of the stairs. Feel free to borrow the reusable shopping bags that are hanging on the door. Fuse Box Very rarely, if there is an electrical surge, the power to an area shuts down. The electrical panels are low down on the left-hand side of the first-floor cupboard at the bottom of the stairs. Have a look at it to see which breaker has tripped to the “off” position. You can then flip the breaker to the "on" position and power will resume again. 13 Checkout Please check out by 10:00 am so that the cleaner has plenty of time to prepare the apartment for the next guests. It would help her if you could do the following: • Take all your refuse out to the wheelie bins located round the back of the apartment next to the car parking bay • Place all used towels and bed linen in piles on the floor (you can leave the beds unmade) • Load all your dirty dishes, cups and utensils in the dishwasher and turn it on Please don’t forget to return one set of keys to the key guard security box as you leave and hang the others on the key rack inside the front door. Thank you very much. We hope you enjoyed your stay and will visit us again in the future. 14 LOCAL AMENITIES Medical and Health Services Dornoch Medical Shore Road Family doctors 01862 810213 Practice Lawson Memorial Station Road Minor injuries service 01408 633157 Hospital Golspie KW10 6SS Raigmore Hospital Old Perth Road Accident and Emergency 01463 704000 Inverness department IV2 3UJ NHS Direct 24-hour health advice 08454 24 24 24 service Dornoch Dental Eaglefield Road General dentist 01862 810267 or Surgery 01408 633963 NHS Highland Dental Dental emergency 0845 644 2271 Helpline helpline Mitchell’s Chemist 8a High Street Pharmacy 01862 810253 Police Non-emergency number 15 Food Shops Scottish Co-op Cathedral Square Dornoch 01862 810000 Dornoch Stores Castle Street Dornoch 01862 811288 Dornoch Convenience Store Dornoch Retail Park Dornoch 01862 811806 Harry Gow (bakery) High Street Dornoch 01862 811196 Dornoch Farm Butchers High Street Dornoch 01862 810334 Grants of Dornoch (butcher and deli) Station Square Dornoch 01862 811822 Lidl Morangie Road Tain, IV19 1PY 0870 444 1234 Tesco Shore Road Tain, IV19 1EH 0345 0269671 Asda Knockbreck Road Tain, IV19 1GZ 01862 771300 Petrol/Gas Stations Evelix Service Station On the A9 Open Mon-Sat 8am- 01862 811131 Dornoch IV25 3NG 9pm, Sun 9am-9pm Morangie Filling Morangie Road Tain 01862 894800 Station Tesco Dingwall Mart Road Tain 0845 677 9818 Post Office This is now in Mitchell’s Chemist 8a High Street 16 Cash Points/ATMs Scottish Co-op Cathedral Square Dornoch Convenience Store Dornoch Retail Park Tourist Information Centre Dornoch Tourist Information Centre Carnegie Courthouse, Castle Street 08452 255121 Library including computers, internet access and printing service 17 Dornoch Restaurants and Cafés Sutherland House Argyle Street 01862 811023 The Carnegie Tea Room and Deli Castle Street 01862 811632 The Dornoch Inn The Square 01862 810376 Dornoch Castle Hotel Castle Street 01862 810216 Luigi's Castle Street 01862 810893 The Royal Golf Hotel Argyle Street 01862 810283 The Eagle Hotel Castle Street 01862 810008 Burghfield House Hotel Cnoc-an-Lobht 01862 811006 Links House Golf Road 01862 810279 Harry Gow (bakery and café) High Street 01862 811196 Gordon House (gallery and café) High Street Cocoa Mountain Castle Street Royal Kashmir (Indian) Dornoch Retail Park 01862 811566 Dornoch Takeaways Alex’s Chinese Castle Street 01862 810004 The Dornoch Inn The Square 01862 810376 Castaway Fish and Chips & Dornoch Business Park 01862 811566 Royal Kashmir Indian Cuisine 18 Golf Clubs Royal Dornoch Golf Golf Road Championship Course 01862 810219 Club plus second 18-hole quality link Carnegie Club at Skibo Skibo Castle Private member 01862
