PUBLIC NOTICE OF INQUIRY

PEAK DISTRICT NATIONAL PARK AUTHORITY (DEEP RAKE, HASSOP (LONGSTONE EDGE EAST)) PROHIBITION ORDER 2013

Notice is hereby given that the National Park Authority has made the PEAK DISTRICT NATIONAL PARK AUTHORITY (DEEP RAKE, HASSOP (LONGSTONE EDGE EAST)) PROHIBITION ORDER 2013 under PARAGRAPH 3 OF SCHEDULE 9 OF THE TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING ACT AND REGULATION 26B OF THE TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING (ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT ASSESSMENT) ( AND WALES) REGULATIONS 1999 (AS AMENDED).

The Peak District National Park Authority has submitted the above Order, to the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government for confirmation, and if confirmed the Order will prohibit the resumption of winning and working of minerals and the depositing of mineral waste on land at Deep Rake, Hassop (Longstone Edge East) in , as permitted by planning permission, reference 1898/9/69 dated the 24 April 1952, and will require the completion of a restoration and aftercare scheme.

Notice is hereby given that the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government has decided to hold a public inquiry into the above Order and that the inquiry into this Order will open at 10.00 on 19 January 2016 at Alden House, Baslow Road, , Derbyshire DE45 1AE and will sit for three days.

DESCRIPTION OF WINNING AND WORKING OF MINERALS TO BE PROHIBITED development consisting of the winning and working of fluorspar and barytes and the working of lead and any other minerals which are won in the course of working those minerals and the depositing of waste materials at Deep Rake, Hassop (Longstone Edge East) in Derbyshire. The land is shown outlined in red on Plan A attached to the Order.
