Frank Garrett who died earlier this month lived and worked in Great Longstone for most of his life. Many people will remember him mowing the greens always with a smile for passers by. He was born on Sunny Bank in February 1923 and later moved to Glebe Avenue. When he was 30 he met Millicent and they married the following year. Millicent worked at the Outrake Children’s Home in Little Longstone as a child carer and it was there that they set up home.
