Meet Results Fall 2016 THE LAST SWIM

In early October, the said, “See you later,” to the facility that has been their home for more than 40 years. The Marguerite Aquatic Center is undergoing a major renovation. As a result, the Nadadores will be training at other facilities in Mission Viejo and surrounding commu- nities. Hundreds of Nadadores were on hand to say their goodbyes with their usual flair and positivity, making one fun going away party out of the work. THE LAST SWIM RENOVATION FUN FACT Where does the water go?

All three pools at the Marguerite Aquatic Center (MAC) must be drained as part of the renova- tion of the facility. The water must sit in the pools for a week or two to let all of the chemicals evapo- rate so that the more than two million gallons of water can be drained without harming plants or wild- life. When the water is safe to drain, it will be slowly drained into the storm drains that surround each pool. From there, the water flows into Oso Creek where it will travel south to Oso Parkway. It will then be captured ans pumped to the Corp Yard on La Paz, and treated at the Santa Margarita Water Dis- trict reclaimed water treatment plant. Tthe water will be stored in the Upper Oso Creek Resevoir, and will be used to irrigate the City’s landscaping throughout Mission Viejo. Using recycled water helps save this precious resource for everyone. EXCELLENCE IN SERVICE Inner-Coastal Clean-up & Red Ribbon Walk

In addition to swimming fast, the Nadadores have been working to help make our commu- nity even better. In September, the Nadadores helped clean the Oso Creek Trail as part of the In- ner-Coastal Clean-up. The high school division scoured the trail picking up trash. In October, Nadadores participated in the Red Ribbon Walk. Nadadores of all ages listened to keynote speaker, U.S. Navy veteran and Purple Heart recipient, Redmond Ramos, and then they walked from Mission Viejo High School to the Norman P. Murray Center to show their support of living a healthy and drug-free life. COMING HOME
