Har Aerobic Kriya p.1 This set should be done very quickly and in a fluid motion, moving from exercise to exercise with no stopping. When done properly it is a great aerobic workout. Repeat the sequence 5 times. 1) Standing with feet comfortably apart, clap your hands over your head 8 times. Each time you clap, chant Har with the tip of your tongue. 2) Bend over from the hips. Slap the ground hard with the hands 8 times. With each pat, chant Har with the tip of your tongue. 3) Stand up straight up with arms out to the sides parallel to the ground. Raise and lower the arms, patting the air, one foot up and one foot below the shoulder height, as you chant Har with the tip of the tongue. 8 times. 4) Still standing, jump and criss-cross the arms and legs chanting Har, both as the arms and legs cross and when they are out at the sides for a total of 8 chants of Har. Bend the right knee, extending in and out of the full stretch of the position, chanting Har each time you bend forward. 8 times. Switch sides, with the left leg extended forward chanting Har each time you bend forward. 8 times. 6) Repeat criss-cross jumping as in exercise #4. 7) Stretch the arms over the head. Arch the back as you bend backwards, chanting Har each time you bend back. -

Shanti.1 [Kena Upanisad 1:1] May the limbs of my body be strong. May my speech, vital energy, eyes, ears and all the senses be purified. All indeed is Brahman as taught in the Upanishads. May I never deny Brahman, nor Brahman, me. May there be unbroken communion between Brahman and myself. May all the virtues described in the Upanishads belong to me who am devoted to self-knowledge. Yea, may they all belong to me. Om. Peace, Peace, Peace. The title of my lecture is: The Harmony of the Yogas. Today is the birthday of one of the great saints of India, Sri Chaitanya, who lived about half a century [five centuries] before Sri Ramakrishna. We shall be celebrating his birthday this evening with a program of worship, devotional songs, readings and prasad. This morning happened to be a Sunday. We could not get away from the Sunday service morning lecture. And the lecture title was decided long ago, before I knew that that would be Sri Chaitanya’s birthday in the evening. So I thought and thought and thought: how to harmonize this lecture title with Sri Chaitanya. Then there was a wonderful revelation to me. I thought, Sri Chaitanya is popularly known as the prophet of love, the prophet of bhakti, singing the name of the Lord, loudly, and going from place to place singing His Holy Name. -

THE ESSENCE OF BHAKTI YOGA What is Bhakti? The word Bhakti comes from a root word “Bhaja” in Sanskrit which means to remember, contemplate, worship, serve, adore, love and sing the glories and greatness of the creator. Four main components of Bhakti are: chanting the glory of God, worshiping, service and surrender to God. Bhakti may be defined as single-minded, constant, loving remembrance of God as given in the following verse: an=ny=c=et==/ s=t=t=] y==e m==] sm=rit= in=ty=x=/ + t=sy==h] s=ulB=/ p==q=* in=ty=y=ukt=sy= y==eig=n=/ ++è.âå++ I am easily attainable, O Arjuna, by that ever steadfast yogi who always thinks of Me regularly with faith and loving devotion and whose mind does not go elsewhere. Sa Ta Na Ma Meditation by Tracey Eccleston
Sa Ta Na Ma Meditation (working title) by: Tracey Eccleston E RYT-500 Sa Ta Na Ma Meditation is becoming scientifically recognized as a power tool for preventing or stopping Alzheimer’s disease, increasing all aspects of cognitive function (perception, thinking, reasoning and remembering) and reducing stress levels while improving short term memory. There are three separate studies that have been published that prove the Sa Ta Na Ma Meditation benefits. Two of the studies were done at the University of Pennsylvania and one continuing studying is being done at UCLA University of California. One of University of Pennsylvania study was published in 2010 in the Journal of Alzheimer's disease1. Another study was published in the Journal of Nuclear Medicine in 2010. The Canadian Alzheimer Society is now recommending the meditation as a daily practice to slow down the effects of Alzheimer's2 Sa Ta Na Ma Meditation is a Kundalini Kirtan Kriya (KEER-tun KREE-a) brought to North America by Yogi Bhajan. Kirtan Kriya is Sanskrit a classical language of India. Kirtan means “song” or “praise” and Kriya means “to do” or “action”. The meditation is a combination of chanting a mantra while moving the hands through mudra’s. Mantra and mudra are also Sanskrit words. Mantra means “an often repeated word or phrase” and mudra means “a motion of the hands” or “a dance of the hands”. To fully experience the benefits of the meditation, a combination of singing, whispering and silently repeating the mantra are used. A key visualization of concentration is used to cap off the meditation. -

Raja Yoga is also referred to as Mental Yoga, or the Yoga of the Mind, because of its emphasis on awareness of one's state of mind. It is through this practice of concentration that one learns to calm the mind and bring it to one point of focus so that we direct our attention inwardly, towards our true nature, which is Divine. Aim: Raja Yoga thus aims at attaining higher levels of spiritual awakening. Spirituality brings lasting and meaningful change to our lives through inner transformation. As we change, the universe changes around us. With this change, there is nurturing of the inner qualities. All aspects of our life must be spiritualized so that they can be directed towards attaining the goal of God-realization. This is the highest path, to God-union. Conclusion: In raja Yoga meditation we use our mental powers to realize the ‗Atman‘ through the process of psychological control. According to Bhagavad Gita: ―When, through the practice of Yoga, the mind ceases its restless movement and becomes still, the aspirant realizes the Atman‖. The mind is cleansed and made tranquil through the repeated practice of ―meditation and moral virtues‖, both of which are crucial in spiritual path. -
