A group of throwers will head to the 5/26-28/16 NCAA East Regional Jacksonville, Fla. University of Georgia to compete in the Georgia Invitational. Several other field athlete will compete in the Drake Relays. The largest group of Hoosiers will head east to compete in the Penn Relays. 6/9-11/16 NCAA Championships Eugene, Ore. • The team is coming off a dual meet with Purdue in which the teams split. The men’s team was victorious, while HOME meets in All Caps the women’s team fell to a tough Boilermaker squad. CONTENTS • A total of 33 marks have been posted within the top 48 of the east regional, which is required to advance to the Page 1: Notes first round of the NCAA meet in Jacksonville. Page 2: Quick Facts Pages 3-4: Rosters • Nakel McClinton moved up in both the hammer throw and discus rankings after a great meet this weekend. She Page 5: Ron Helmer currently ranks as the second best hammer thrower in the east region. She is also seeded 16th in the discus Pages 6-9: Records throw. Laura Schroeder is the sixth ranked hammer thrower in the east. • Daniel Kuhn is the seventh ranked 800m runner in the east. He is also ranked 41st in the 400m dash. • Sophie Gutermuth jumped up to fifth on the women’s pole vault rankings. Sydney Clute is now 11th. Dylan Anderson is 27th for the men. MEDIA RELATIONS • Four Hoosiers rank inside the top 48 in the men’s 5,000m run. Rorey Hunter is ranked seventh (27th in the Charlie Duffy 1,500m run), Matt Schwartzer is 16th (20th in the 1,500m run), Jason Crist is 23rd (48th in the 1,500m run), and Email: [email protected] Jeremy Coughler is 27th and he is also seeded 33rd in the steeplechase. Brenna Calder is the 24th ranked 1,500m runner in the east region. • Four more student-athletes are inside the top 48 of the steeplechase. Brianna Johnson is the 28th seed. Jason Crist is ranked 12th, Josh Roche is ranked 19th, and Claxton is 37thon the men’s side. • Chanli Mundy ranks 18th in the 10,000m run with a time of 34:14.01, the seventh best time in school history. • Four men’s throwers are currently NCAA hopefuls. Willie Morrison ranks as the east’s 19th best in the shot put. David Schall sits at 21st in the event. Andrew Miller moved up to 29th in the men’s hammer throw. Dyrek Chowning is 37th in the discus throw. • Ari Nelson is the 48th ranked women’s long jumper. Paul Galas moved up to the 27th ranked men’s high jumper and Treyton Harris 48th. • Zach Reitzug jumped all the way up to 18th in the 400m hurdles. Diquis Manley is 40th in the event.     May 29, 2013 For Immediate Release Contact: Dan Mihalik, Big Ten Conference Big Ten Recognizes Spring and At-Large Sports Academic All-Conference Honorees Park Ridge, Ill.—As the 2012-13 academic year comes to a close, the Big Ten Conference recognizes a total of 1,280 spring and at-large sports student-athletes who have been named to the Academic All- Conference team. The list of honored student-athletes features 100 baseball players, 94 softball players, 147 women’s rowers, 46 men’s and 52 women’s golfers, 47 men’s and 46 women’s tennis athletes, 182 men’s and 241 women’s track and field standouts and 157 men’s (representing ice hockey, volleyball, lacrosse, fencing, rowing and pistol and rifle) and 168 women’s (representing bowling, water polo, ice hockey, fencing, sand volleyball, synchronized swimming, lightweight rowing, lacrosse and pistol and rifle) at-large athletes. To be eligible for Academic All-Big Ten selection, student-athletes must be letterwinners who are in at least their second academic year at their institution and carry a cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 or higher. The Respondent, Athletics Canada is the national governing body for athletics, cross-country and road running in Canada. It is a not-for-profit Corporation incorporated pursuant to the Canada Not-for-Profit Corporations Act, S.C. 2009. Pursuant to Athlet- ics Canada’s Bylaws, the Board of Directors appoints Committees as necessary for the management of the Corporation’s affairs. Athletics Canada has appointed and tasked the National Team Committee (NTC) with identifying athletes to compete in athletics at various international competitions. Simon Nathan is the High-Performance Director at Athletics Canada. 3. As only one female athlete has this far been selected for the team, no athletes would be affected should Kelsie be successful in her appeal. II. JURISDICTION 4.
