Indian Museum Be sure to check out St. Paul’s Cathedral, her gothic style stained glass windows and Florentine frescoes are quite amazing. Constructed in the early 1800s, this is the largest cathedral in the city, located right next to the Birla Planetarium. St. Paul’s Cathedral Head to Dakshineswar Kali Temple, north of Kolkata. Built in 1847 on the banks of the Hooghly, across the river from Belur Math, headquarters of Ramakrisha Mission, considered a heaven of peace and religious harmony. The temple is connected with the famous 19th century saint Shri Ramakrisha Dakshineswar Kali Temple who revived Hinduism during the British Raj. A true beauty, Victoria Memorial, since 1921 this structure has been considered a symbol of Kolkata. White marble surrounds the wonderful garden, housing a museum that contains memorabilia connected to Queen Victoria during the British Raj.
