The Sentinel 2001 Tuesday, January 2, 2001 Elizabeth A. Gudeman Dec. 31, 1928 – Jan. 1, 2001 Elizabeth A. “Betty Anne” GUDEMAN, 72, died at 4:20 p.m. Monday at her Kewanna home. Born in Medaryville to Clifford and Mary RODGERS EMERICH, she married William Roe GUDEMAN at St. Henry’s Catholic Church in Medaryville on Feb. 14, 1950. He died Jan. 2, 1972. Mrs. Gudeman, a 1946 graduate of Medaryville High School, received an associate of art degree at Ancilla College in 1980. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Anne Catholic Church, Kewanna, where she was in the Altar and Rosary Society. She was a member of Kewanna Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary, a Fulton County Emergency Medical Technician and a Cub Scout den mother. An avid seamstress who enjoyed painting and drawing, she traveled to Rome and received Communion from the pope. Survivors include two sons, Craig [GUDEMAN] and wife Beth, Plymouth; David [GUDEMAN], Rochester; two daughters, Rebecca GUDEMAN, Kewanna; Angela RIDENOUR and husband Roger, Plymouth; seven grandchildren, Adam and Jennifer GUDEMAN, Rachael and Charlotte RIDENOUR, Alexander GUDEMAN, Sarah GUDEMAN MORIARTY and Aaron BORDER; one sister, Rachel EMERICH, Francesville; two brothers, James EMERICH, Michigan City, and Allen BOSSE, Lowell. Preceding in death with her husband were one son, Dennis [GUDEMAN], one sister, Ruth RYAN and one brother, Harold EMERICH. Services are at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Ann Catholic Church, Kewanna, with Rev. Joseph JACOB officiating. Burial is at St. Ann Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at Harrison-Metzger Funeral Home, Kewanna, where the rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m.
