1st Bulletin

Jan 20, 2017 1 Introduction The 21st International Conference on Particles and Nuclei (PANIC 2017), organized by the Institute of High Energy Physics (IHEP), Chinese Academy of Sciences, will be held in Beijing from September 1 to 5, 2017. This conference is the 21st in the series of triennial conferences which bring together the Particle and Nuclear Physics communities.

2 Venue The conference takes place in the China National Convention Center which is located close to the city center and easily reachable by public transportation.

3 Scientific Program The scientific program of PANIC addresses a broad range of topics at the interface between particle, nuclear and astrophysics. Special emphasis will be devoted to recent discoveries and results. The program will consist of plenary, parallel and poster sessions. Main topics including the following items:

Hot and dense matter physics (QGP and heavy Energy frontier physics beyond the standard ion collision) model Hadron spectroscopy and exotics Flavor physics - CKM and beyond Neutrino physics Tests of symmetries and conservation laws Dark matter and cosmology Hadrons in medium - hyperons and mesons in Nuclear and particle astrophysics nuclear matter Standard model physics at the TeV scale Development of accelerators and detectors Applications of nuclear technology

4 Call for contributions In order to apply for an oral presentation in one of the topical sessions or for a poster presentation, please submit a title and an abstract through the INDICO page on the conference website. The deadline for abstract submission is April 30, 2017. Note that some applications for oral presentation may be asked to be made as poster presentations in order to match finite number of talk slots allocable in parallel sessions. 5 Registration and payment Please do online registration through the registration web page by August 1st, 2017. The conference fee is 475 US Dollars for registration and payment before May 1st, 2017. After this date, the late registration fee is $525. Students are entitled to a reduced fee of $375 and $425 respectively. Payment is possible via bank transfer or credit card.

6 Visa Please indicate during your online registration, if you need a formal invitation letter for a visa application. Please note that it might take several weeks for visa to be issued at the China consulates and embassies.

7 Accommodation Please check the conference webpage for the list of recommended hotels. To book a room at the special rate in one of these designated hotels, please send your reservation email to the official reservation email address of PANIC 2017: [email protected].

8 Lunch Lunch box is to be made available and is included in the registration fee. If you like to have vegetarian edition, please mark during your online registration.

9 Important Dates March 31, 2017 Deadline for abstract submission. March 31, 2017 Deadline for early registration. August 1, 2017 Deadline for Registration and Hotel reservation. September 1-5, 2017 Conference.
