HOW’S THE BOARD? Old Business 80s Action Movie ??? • Will be shown as the last movie of the semester • We have not yet made any kind of decision as to what to show • Do we want to show a stereotypical 80s action movies? • Christmas related 80s Action: o o o Lethal Weapon o Gremlins o Planes, Trains, and Automobiles • Not related to Christmas o Top Gun o / o Robocop o Back to the Future o o Commando o Terminator, Terminator 2 o o Conan the Barbarian • The Christmas related category wins 12-10 o Which movie within the category? o Die Hard wins by a majority after voting

HOW’S THE BOARD? New Business International Film Fest • Danny Jacobs will be showing 4 different films over six different weeks, from different modern languages • We would like to show some films that would be in a language that is represented here on campus by a lot of people, but is not within those modern languages, i.e. an Indian film • One suggestion was a film called Shadow, which is a Chinese documentary film • Another was a film from the UAE called Bilal: A New Breed of Hero, which is an animated film • We could show these two films, as well as an Indian film • We could get funding from either USG or the international student organization (IPS), who might be able to suggest other movies as well • This would be a way to help international students see films that are popular in their home country but they are unable to return home and watch. • How should we show these films? o Over a weekend, over multiple weekends, maybe? o It would be a good idea to fill in the holes in the modern language films ▪ Might not be able to because of winter carnival and spring break school breaks o After voting, the majority decides that we should show them over two weekends. Winter Wonderhack • This will be on February 22nd • Would Film Board be willing to provide free advertising for the 4th annual event, and possibly provide 100 popcorn vouchers, in exchange for the FB logo on their website and posters? • The Board agrees to this plan
