Taking on board the figures provided in terms of voter count growth upto 2020, the following conclusions have been considered and are supported by Axminster Town Council; 1) That the Ward of Axminster would comprise Axminster Town, Axminster Weycroft and Axminster Raymonds Hill. The parish of , currently served by the ward member for Axminster Rural, would be re-allocated. On this basis, the remaining voter count for the Ward of Axminster by 2022 would be 6333 electors, which is almost precisely equivalent to 3 ward members, each representing approximately 2100 voters. 2) That Hawkchurch joins its immediate neighbours, All Saints and , and their adjoining neighbour, Membury, in the revised YARTY ward, having taken out . This leaves an anticipated voter count of 2128, again almost precisely the figure suggested by the Boundary Commission. 3) That the parish of Yarcombe be added to the existing parishes within Otterhead ward, but also incorporate , thus giving a combined voter count of 2323, just over the 10% margin above. Non-inclusion of Luppitt reduces Otterhead ward to 1932, which is within the lower margin of 10% below. 4) That Newbridges ward remain unchanged, comprising , Shute and Whitford, Kilmington and , with 2121 FV count. 5) That Trinity ward remains as , and , with 2184 FVC. 6) That Seaton ward remain as a 3 member ward, with equivalent to 2319 FVC per ward member. 7) That Coly Valley ward include Colyton, together with , and . However, to be re-assigned to Beer and , due to their adjoining boundary and the fact that the B&B ward is very light on FVC, with only 1584, or 1767 with the inclusion of Southleigh. The re-assignment of Southleigh would reduce the Coly Valley ward to 3408 or some 1704 FVC per member, roughly comparable with Beer and Branscombe. Unless Seaton were to experience some parish boundary changes to the west of the town, the geographical and demographic limitations of the area between Seaton and make no other options viable. Axminster Town Council does not wish to comment on any other of the ward / parish boundaries detailed in the report.
