HOMILY
PROFESSION OF FAITH: THE APOSTLES’ CREED
Following the Homily, the Profession of Faith is recited. During Easter Time, it is especially appropriate that baptismal Symbol of the Roman Church, known as the Apostles’ Creed, be used.
I believe in God, the Father almighty, Creator of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried; he descended into hell; on the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty; from there he will come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen.

Brothers and sisters, please join with me in an Act of Spiritual Communion:
My Jesus, I believe that you are present in the Most Holy Sacrament. I love you above all things and I desire to receive you into my soul. Since I cannot at this moment receive you sacramentally, I ask you to come spiritually into my heart. I embrace you as if you were already there and unite myself to you completely. Never permit me to be separated from you. Amen. – attributed to Saint Alphonsus Liguori

The priest alone rises and sings or says the following prayer or another prayer from the ritual.
Let us pray.
Lord our God, in this great Sacrament we come into the presence of Jesus Christ, your Son, born of the Virgin Mary and crucified for our salvation. May we who declare our faith in this fountain of love and mercy drink from it the water of everlasting life.
We ask this through Christ our Lord. R. Amen.
