December 2014 Their Excellencies’ Exchange Baron Morgan Blackdragon Baroness Montega Blackdragon Morgan Albert Montega Albert [email protected] [email protected] 918-706-1444 918-706-7929 Holiday Greetings Northkeep! We hope that you are all enjoying the season. We have so much to be thankful for. We wanted to send our gratitude to Chemin Noir and anyone who helped them with Saturnalia. We had a wonderful time and thought the event was a smashing success! We now look towards Winterkingdom. We still have a lot of spaces left for classes. We ask that each of you help promote the event on Facebook, email, Twitter, etc… The more the word gets out, the better the turn out will be. We do need help with this event so if you can offer some of your time we would be most grateful. It is not too early to start thinking about Castellan. This event is coming up as well and we are taking bids for feast and Autocrats. This is a great event to get your autocratting feet wet. Don’t be afraid to jump in. We can help! We would like to thank those who showed up to the VFW on Thanksgiving Eve to help clean. It made everything go so fast! We would also like it to be known that the VFW is not just for fighter practice. We would like to see our artisans and general populace showing up. There are plenty of tables for any project you want to work on. Wednesdays at the VFW are for EVERY- ONE. We hope to see you there! Keep an eye on the calendar for upcoming special nights there. We recently had a wonderful Mini A&S competition there. What a great time! Thank you to all the entrants and judges. We were able to get through the trailer inventory so much faster and easier than ever thanks to all the help we had. We can’t tell you how grateful we are that you are all so supportive. We know without a doubt we have THE best barony in Ansteorra! War is coming! In just a few short months we will be going back to Gulf Wars! We would love for ALL of Northkeep to camp together. We will again have a pavilion for a common area and invite everyone to meet there whenever possible. Let’s start planning now! If you haven’t been to Gulf Wars, now is a great time to go! Thank you so much everyone for another month of fun, fellowship and all things Medieval. We hope this holiday season finds you healthy, happy and loving life! Morgan and Montega Blackdragon Baron and Baroness of Northkeep December 2014 Seneschal Says it All: Adalia VonderBerg Greetings Northkeep!!! Winter is here and that means Winterkingdom is coming! If you haven't yet, please sign up to teach a class! We also have sign up sheets for the jobs that need to be done available online (See the link from our website). Remember that we've moved the event to the Creek County Fairgrounds this year. This new site has TONS of room for all types of classes. We even have areas that are on concrete with water spigots every 10 feet. These areas are also climate controlled! Another sign that winter is here is Weisenfeuer's Yule Revel. Remember, site is free for this event and it's just down the road. So let's get out there and support our neighbors by having a GREAT TIME at their event! Crown Tournament is just around the corner. It has been announced that the tournament will be in Houston this time. Their Stellar Majesties have added a requirement to this year's entrants. Each couple wishing to compete will not only have to submit a letter of intent, but also provide an A&S piece made by their own hands. I'd like to thank all of those who worked so hard to make the Comic Con demo such a great success. We've already booked our slot for next year so look for more on that as it comes closer. Saturnalia was a smashing success! Lots of tournament fun, feast was amazing and the site was warm and welcoming! Well done, Chemin Noir! One final reminder, we will not have populace meeting in the month of December, but all other meetings are still on as scheduled! Have a FANTABULOUS month! TO THE CHILDREN Dear Little Friends : I want to introduce the farmyard peo- ple to you, and to have you call upon them and become better acquainted as soon as you can. Some of them are work- ing for us, and we surely should know them. Perhaps, too, some of us are work- ing for them, since that is the way in this delightful world of ours, and one of the happiest parts of life is helping and being helped. It is so in the farmyard, and although there is not much work that the people there can do for each other, there are many kind things to be said, and even the Lame Duckling found that he could make the Blind Horse happy when he IV Preface tried. It is there as it is everywhere else, and I sometimes think that although the farmyard people do not look like us or talk like us, they are not so very differ- ent after all. If you had seen the little Chicken who would n't eat gravel when his mother was reproving him, you could not have helped knowing his thoughts even if you did not understand a word of the Chicken language.
