In 2020, she won second place in the Chapel Hill Philharmonia Young Artist Concerto Competition. In 2019, she was the first place winner of the NC Bach Festival Young Artists Concerto Competition and performed with the NC Bach Festival Ensemble. From school ensembles to regional orchestras, Jaeyee has been performing in orchestras for seven years. She is currently the Concertmaster of Triangle Youth Philharmonic. Recently, she was selected as a member of NYO2 2021. Jaeyee is an active chamber musician through the North Carolina Chamber Music Institute. This year, her piano trio was selected as a semifinalist in the Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition. In 2020, her ensemble won first place in the University of South Carolina Chamber Music Competition. Jaeyee is a volunteer performer for Sunday services at First Korean Baptist Church and virtual choir at the Highland United Methodist Church. In addition to violin, she enjoys playing the piano and dancing ballet. Catherine Yates has studied with North Carolina Symphony Associate Principal cellist Elizabeth Beilman since she was five. She has occupied title chairs with the Triangle Youth Philharmonic, Enloe High School Symphony Orchestra, and Duke String School Youth Symphony. She

Ms. Gill provided a welcome from the Board of Education and Ms. Clark was in attendance. • On Friday, October 17, Ms. Gill attended the dedication of the Shaw University Center for Early Childhood Education, Development and Research. • On October 9, Ms. Gill attended the Freedom Fund Banquet sponsored by the State NAACP. • Ms. Gill shared that over the past month the Board has met with mayors and municipality boards. Meetings were held on September 22 with the Towns of Knightdale, Zebulon, and Raleigh, September 25 with the Towns of Apex, Morrisville, Holly Springs, and Fuquay-Varina, September 30, with the Towns of Wake Forest, Rolesville, and Wendell, and October 14, with the Towns of Cary and Garner.

Performing Shostakovich’s Quartet No. 13 and Schubert’s Quartet in D minor, D.810 Death and the Maiden, the Emerson Quartet will perform these works in which the Quartet has received rave reviews for its New York performances this past spring. The evening’s honorees are Mollie and John Byrnes. Concert Only Tickets are $95. On Saturday, June 7 at 8 pm, violinist Stefan Jackiw and pianist Anna Polonsky perform Mozart’s Sonata in B-flat Major, K. 454, Lutoslawski’s Partita for violin and piano, Saariaho’s Nocturne (in Memory of Lutoslawski) and Brahms’s Sonata No. 3 in D minor, Op. 108.
