Organized by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and EQUALS-EU
The ITU “European celebration of Girls in ICT 10-year anniversary” is held within the framework of the ITU Girls in ICT day initiative that aims to empower girls and young women through ICTs. This virtual celebration will be held on 22 April 2021 and is organized by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and EQUALS-EU.
The celebration aims to raise awareness, share stories and encourage more girls and young women to actively pursue careers in the science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics (STEAM) to bridge the gender digital divide as well as engage the European community and promote collaboration through partnerships.
Since 2011, over 377,000 girls and young women have taken part in more than 11,400 International Girls in ICT Day celebrations in 171 countries. We invite all stakeholders and individuals interested to participate in this open event to join us.
